Way more compelling than all the bible thumpers looking for converts on the PDB.

That said, I don't go to church, don't subscribe to any of the religions out there, or their take on what the Bible means. Each and every religion is simply a following of a single person's or group's interpretation of what the Bible says, and if you are doing something your particular religion says is wrong, you need only switch to another and it'll be alright.
I don't care to discuss the practice of religion, and why a specific person's is the right one. Simply put, I am content to pray, do the very best I can to do what I think is what God wants me to do. Beyond that, and I know I'm a perfectly good sinner, just like everyone else here, I can't do much else. I'm a work in progress, I know that. I curse, and sometimes, like right now, I'm lazy. I let things get behind because I'm too busy procrastinating. I sometimes talk about others, as in GOSSIP, and I complain a lot some days. But God loves me, this I know, and that prick of my conscience, is, I think, His way of telling me I'm not doing what I should. I'm getting better, but I'm a work in progress.
As for Steve, if he's not interested in religion, then that's none of anyone's business. We all do what we think is right, and it's God's job to decide that on Judgement Day. So quit pestering him, raymond..
I see a tendency to very little religion with veterans of vicious wars, and I imagine, if I had been witness to what they went through, I might feel a lot as they do. JMO...

I feel the fortunately beneficiary of Daddy's honor and ethics, generousity, and his charitibility. Dad helped EVERYBODY, loved his children (and everybody else's) loved animals, righted wrongs whenever possible, and treated everybody with dignity and respect, whether he thought they really deserved deep, down inside it or not. He actually died fixing some kid's bike (fell off on a test ride) at age 78.
I guess I will never know if he got to heaven unless I get there myself, but I sure like to think he did.
There were a lot of my dogs waiting for him at the Bridge.

Raymond,
Give it a break...Steve didn't threaten you with bodily harm. He just made it clear he wanted you out of his personal space and if it takes knocking you out of that space, you are going to bring it on & you will be the one doing yourself bodily harm. Sounds like he was giving fair warning. Do you continue to get in a snarling dogs face until you are bit and then blame the dog or do you back off? And when Steve spoke of war he wasn't wishing that he could do it to you too. He was baring his soul and letting you know that "your god" wasn't there when his "mates" needed him. War brings out the agnostics in some, the faith in others. Not your place to judge him for what he had to do. Take a step back, take a deep breath and save those who want to be saved. Leave the rest of us to our hell and damnation in your lake of fire. We won't be blaming you when the time comes.
Crys, you made a very good statement. Thank you.
Shelley, don't blame yourself for another's problems, we don't blame you for what happens when you try to make a comment. Some people just get too wrapped up in themselves and what they believe in and wonder why no one wants to discuss things with them anymore. Not your fault. Go enjoy your puppies.
Regards,
Deb
