The UK KC standard is very similar to the FCI standard as regards to outline height to length teeth etc it is i admit watered down somewhat with one or two small changes but if you say you have indeed read it then tell me where the alsatian comes close to the standard it does not resemble the standard in any way shape or form but it still wins CC's and gets champion status as far as judging what comes into the ring well it looks like that is exactly what tony stanbra did by with holding all placings in the class at crufts because none of the exhibits conformed to the standard so jeevs tell me who on earth put these dogs up in previous Champ shows so they could qualify for crufts in the first place

Jimh, my thoughts exactly, well said. liz

That's a very good question, Jim!
Quite simply, "middle of the road" is no more acceptable than "Alsatian" really! There is only the correct GSD, all the other "names" are excuses for poor construction / temperament.
Extreme (either way) is not correct... so, I'm not sure what your point is, Jeevs... remembering that quite a few do show their dogs overseas.

Dear David the name of the bitch pulled out at the league spectactular show was Rheinmeister Chi-Ki-Mi owned by my good self .Mrs.Carole Spelman.you can see a picture of her taken at souhern counties champ.show winning sp.yrl.in 2004 under Dennis Bibby.this is in the year book for 2005 page 55.she won most of her classes in 2004 and the ones she didnt she highly placed under both english,m.o.t.r.and foreign judges.she wasnt shown much in 2005/6/7/8 due to my husbands ill health and my inability to drive.i can only get to shows by train and therefore iam unable to attend many breed clubs shows as these are usually held at equestrian centre out in the middle of nowhere.the bitches you placed were called Rheinmeister Onni owned by Mrs.Elaine Lowe and her sister Rheinmeister Otti.Onni was the foundation of the delnat gsd kennel and her top winning animal Delnat Rumours.is her granddaughter.Otti is the granddam of Chiki and also the dam of Rheinmeister Curtis who notch up several 1st places at champ.shows and his half sister Rheinmeister Otliya who also had an occasional 1st placing at general champ.shows.she was out of Middross Mike.lily/otiliya is the dam of chiki.CHIKI also took the bitch cc at Crufts 2007 much to my amazement and no doubt others under Eric Broadhurst.you also commented to me at one of the champ.shows i think it was Manchester last year but i could be mistaken that you had the right dog for this bitch to be mated to.I CLASS THIS BITCH AND ALL MY ANIMALS TO BE OF THE CORRECT TYPE.However some have commented that they are middle of the road.as i said before most of the middle of the road brigade do have the correct type and if they were trained as germanic types and were fit i reckon that many could possibly give the germanic ones a run for their money.they prefer to show under all rounders and english judges who are changing sides because of all the unecessary double handling and the amount of time they have to move especially the mp.and puppy classes.

Were not ALL the bitches in the PGB class thrown out of the ring and all placings witheld?

by missbeeb on 18 March 2009 - 16:03
All places were witheld in PGB. Good for the judge... we need more like him!

by Videx on 18 March 2009 - 16:03
Dear noddi, thank you, phew! a name would have been suffice.
jeev: splitting those hairs is both pathetic and ridiculous.

Videx, did you see the seminar that Richard Meyer of SV has given on the state of affair of the German shepherd He addressed concerns with Show and working lines....thought you might be interested if you haven't already seen the article. i think he was addressing region 6......gustav, I thought it was good stuff for both lines as we all have the same goals in mind!
