Thank you, Ek. Even now, 30 years later, I look at her and think, "How could I ever have gotten so lucky?"   She was bought by her previous owner at an auction, and had no papers, needless to say, but she was obviously part Arab. She might have had a bit of hackney horse in her as well, which would help to explain her strong build.  She was a joy to work with on the ground, her only bad habit being a knack for undoing crossties and opening doors that weren't securly latched. At the end of the ride, she always had to have a good head rub, using her rider as the rubbing post. I did try to break her of that, but found my efforts were making her a bit head shy, so I decided just to put up with it, and buy a riding sweater that matched her coat....

Hey I have been a itch post for my horses. Yes, it is just easier to go along with it then fight it LOL! I just to lay out in the paster with my male and sit and watch the clouds go by. What happy thoughts and days those were. Now I sit with my dogs and enjoy the time I have with them. Animals can bring so much joy in a persons life. I know they have with me.

I know:) but sadly i got him from a breederwho sold his puppies to puppy brokers, I think i see some straining in one of his hips, his lines have not been OFAed in so many generations and he has alot of in-breeding, typical of the American shepherd:( Otherwise he has tons of ball drive, very attentive to the owner (ME) and love to bit the sleeve, that what anyone could ask for in a german shepherd. ALL i can say is that i got very lucky in ending up with him and still getting a quality dog without knowing about health and what to look for in a GSD at the time.

He is a different look from the typical American shepherd though, he's not oversized, very compacted muscle, and has a lovely typey head.

here his head shot, lovely expression and Fierce, huh!

the pic was taken by me.

I also Know for sure that one of his litter mates is a K9 in the Army in Fort Carson, Colorado.

Sorry for not giveing you the breeder/seller information, i do not recemeend these people, you may not get as lucky as i did.

thankyou for you comment on him:)
