rezkat5, i looked up the threads (didn't occur to me before, doh!). it looks like dyson wins hands down. i'm gonna wait til i get a coupon for %20 off and see if they have them at linens and things. thanks for the clue.

the purple one is the animal one i think.  darn, i just got a coupon for bed, bath, and beyond too!

I use the roomba, inbetween, that son of a gun wonders all over and does a pretty good job for quick pick me ups. I just have to put up the dogs, they love to kill it then come find me to get it going again. 

angus likes the vacuum, hair dryer and coffee grinder. in the a.m. he comes running to the counter when i start the grinder and either sits under or lays under the counter til its done; no barking, he just seems to like the noise. our bel mal is just the opposite - she hates the vacuum and hair dryer and stays out of the kitchen til the coffee starts dripping down. a roomba would probably end up "dead" here. angus would most likely think its a toy. i just end up w/hand vac hitting the monster hair creatures who continually form at my house. i'm glad we have mostly hardwood floors, but the few carpeted areas are a real pain. we're planning on getting rid of them and getting wood. a roomba might be good for the bedrooms upstairs tho; the dogs don't go up unless we let them. well, i guess i can break down and ask for a dyson for my anniversary , but i won't enjoy it. my husband will get to go fishing!!

btw, i think i forgot to say that i really enjoy seeing other peoples dogs. they are beautiful. thanks for sharing.

a roomba would be dead here too. as is my bitch tries to pick up the 19 pound dyson when it's running!

I rather enjoyed the first few days with the dyson.  so maybe it won't be that bad.  :)
