He is gorgeous, love his head.  The DDR's are my favorite.

Pharaoh

Not me, I did not put down Sven and Gotz.  Pharaoh has all his equipment.  Some of his littermates have had their OFA prelims done and they got a Good.  I plan on sending in for his A stamp.

Sven is Pharaoh's grandfather and Gotz is his great grandfather.

Sven imparts a deep, powerful bark and I am happy that Pharaoh, like his mother Sindy, have that incredible bark.

Here is Pharaoh's pedigree:     www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/551839.html

There are lots of pictures on Pharaoh's page,

The SV breed banned Sven & sindy breeding for the problems in the offspring. Aron has long coat offspring and i believe the had some ear problems as well in Germany.

How is Sven's dam born in 1985 and Sven was born in 1996?  Am I reading this wrong?

I have a 18 month old male from the same kennel.  I just got a TD on him last weekend.  His name is Berlin Von Hena - C.

He has the same similar good looks, but as the DDR's are slow to mature, I certainly wouldn't put him up for stud at such a young age and with no titles to back up.

Pharaoh

Yes, but a different Sindy than Pharaoh's mother.

Any decent dog with a good full coat carries the gene for long coat,  When people got all hyper in West Germany about long coats and eliminated it from their gene pool they ended up with almost no coat at all.  You will see lots of West German working lines who suffer from this affliction.  Some of them are more thin furred and sleek than a laborador.  Not pretty.

The showline people realized what a mistake that was and they carefully keep it in their gene pool.

These same purists went crazy getting rid of the solid black gene.  The nazi's liked the solid black dogs.  After WWII  black was verbotten.  Some black puppies were drowned. Eventually, they ended up with no pigment and washed out colors.  Oops!  bring back that recessive.

I like a nice heavy coat.  I wish Pharaoh had more fur.  He has a gorgeous coat, but I would love it if he did carry the gene for long coat.

I have seen many, many pictures of Aron offspring from many different females. Their ears are incredible.  Here is a sample.

He is 12 months old in this avatar.  He and his siblings and other half siblings and they all have perfect, rigid ears with fabulous strong cartilege.

I own a full littermate to this dog and then could be mistaken for twins. My dog has rock solid nerves, great balanced drives, is a wonderful house dog and companion, but also LOVES the work. He will be trialing for his French Ring I this summer and his AKC Tracking Dog title this spring. :)

He IS beautiful, but I wouldn't breed him if looks were all he had.... I'm still not even sure if I'm going to breed him period.

>  I still have a few years before my current PSD will retire. I want to purchase a DDR so I have lots of time to gather info and such. They are by far my favorite Shepherd.
