You come with claims and I show that they can't be supported with evidence, period.  Please show me where I'm being dishonest and/or deceptive beetree.  Point it out in detail.

by beetree on 24 November 2012 - 15:11

Explain your beliefs in regards to believing as a Christian or an aethiest or anything in between. I'm not going to address all your wild, totally rude claims. Someone else with no life can do that.

Travels my DEAR!

I have no idea what has changed in your life in the last year or so, nor do I care.

But this is what I have recently observed, you now have for some unknown reason developed a habit of throwing things out for discussion (fine with me).

But what I don't like and I'm sure I have a few supporters is your new arrogant, condescending , know-it-all attitude.

You throw something out and sombody presents a different view and your response is like you are the world's foremost expert on the present subject matter. Your haughty replies are IMO just dripping of emotion, suggesting a person who is not happy with their present lot in life. If thats' the case I hope things change for you.

I hope you change your attitude because I think you are just pissing people off.

Totally my personal opinion, for what it's worth.

I have not given you my opinion because if there's anything that I believe, it's that my opinion only matters to me.  If I hold an irrational belief, I'm not putting it up for debate, unless I'm questioning it and request input.  If I were happy with my irrational thoughts, the only place it would cause me harm is where I attempt to use it as a force against another human being.

This is what people can't separate when religion is ingrained.  It makes people feel they have some higher rights than others and that is slavery at its basic level.  And when someone questions authority and attempts to retain their own rights, they are met with division and hatred, as you have shown, so glaringly, above.

Actually beetree,  I like you quite a bit, I just happen to disagree with your opinion on the reach of religion into secular life.  My opinion of where I rate on the God scale is not only trivial, but outright irrelevant.  I may pray every day for 4 hours and I may never pray.  I may pray to Zeus or Allah, or none.  Whatever it is, I'm happy keeping it to myself, because I'm not trying to force anyone to see it the same way, while also not putting it up for debate.  It is a moot point.  You are the one trying to make your opinion important and I am disagreeing that it is.  You are the one making claims that you cannot support.  I'm sorry if I'm able to point it out, but that certainly doesn't mean I hate you.

Ninja my dear, nothing has changed in me, I have always been the same.  I have always disliked people being treated badly for bad reasons.  And when people defend division and hatred and justify ignorance, based on opinion, it's time to speak up.  I'm not an expert on much and I'm not a scientist.  I have a brain and it allows me rational and irrational thoughts.  All irrational thoughts are not bad, depending on the power they can wield, or not.  It's also necessary to recognize and name irrational thoughts, in order that they don't end up suppressing someone's rights.  Opinion should remain in the realm of privacy and should never be used as a guide for secular laws, period.  That's the one and only thing I've defended here, other than refuting others' claims to those higher rights.  You are the ones throwing your irrational thoughts out there for scrutiny, not me.

by beetree on 24 November 2012 - 16:11

I agree. It is entirely moot to continue. I really don't appreciate you deciding how I feel about religion and putting your twist on what I am discussing to fan dissent and yes, hatred. I know the game you are playing and the only way to stop it, is to take the high road. Nice try, at the mirroring, too,  but a coward's approach. We have nothing further to discuss unless you are honest in your discussion, that's the term I set, between you and I.  All the rest is an excuse for abuse, like I already said.

Travels, I will not answer anymore of your questions.  I am done here.   From what I gather (from a post I read of yours a long while ago) you are an acclaimed believer in God, but yet by your posts you clearly deny He is the creator.  I suspect you deny His Word? Unless He has been revealed to us, how do we come to know about Him? This thread as many of the others turn into bickering and slandering, which I have not done, nor will I do. It has gone off in 400 directions for that matter..... So it is pointless to even continue the thread.

betree, did you get my message I sent to your inbox?

That's my whole point GSDguy08, you don't know and it doesn't matter to the matter at hand.  I have never stated what my personal beliefs are, or lack thereof.  Like I said, my own irrational thoughts are my own and the only reason I'd put them out there would be if I had questions about them.  I don't.  And I also don't care if you agree or disagree, it merely doesn't matter to me, one way or the other.  And I have no problem with your beliefs, in general.  I do have a problem with you attempting to legislate them against any others.  I am not doing that, you are.
