Slamdunc, I never made claims to be a professional working dog trainer or that I trained dogs in Schutzhund.  For my own bred dogs(few and GSDs) I have trained them in obediance and some PP. I have had GSDs since 1970 and hung around others with them too, some WL imports and some SL imports and some AKC domestic. After I once had a domestic AKC GSD and experienced weak temperament and HD, I did extensive research and switched to WL from V rated parents.  Then my last two GSD have been SL, one with KK1 and Sch degrees, the other BH, AD with some Sch training in Germany. I know what correct GSD temperment is and isn't. Since the first, all my personal GSDs have been from pink papered V rated, Sch3 or IPO3 parents.

Back in the 1980's I worked with others to train PP and perimeter dogs, and some breeding experiments with extensive Xraying to track and reduce HD.  Several of the dogs we trained were GSD imports from Belgium (from an old and well know breeder and trainer using them for seeing eye dogs).  These GSDs had very strong territorial dominance and were truly courageous, with explosive defensive drives with no training of any kind, but could easily be trained in obediance, or Sch which one other proceeded to do in a local Sch club, but I didn't.  Agitation methods with a full padded suit and snap stick was used and we had a helper with substantial experience.  As far as the strong, explosive defense reaction these belgian GSDs had when provoked with no prior training of any kind (occurred in some dogs at a young age of 6-7 months old) was something I had not ever seen in GSDs before and rarely since. These same dogs were notably calm and friendly around people and reliable and that is why they made great seeing eye dogs after extensive training.

We used warehouses, homes and cars for the training and one of the group had trained police dogs. We also had a few weak GSDs that were brought in by friends, and we found these dogs unpredictable in their own home situations.  However, we were surprised by one spook that was as tough a home protector inside his house as any of the sound GSDs (but he was a liability and not a GSD I would keep--so there are exceptions). I had numerous contacts and visits during that time with a well known man who imported top winning showline dogs from Germany and spent considerable time in Germany.  I also travelled to Germany, attended the Siegerhauptzuchtschau and other activities. I have studied genetics and selective breeding in depth over many years.

Slamdunc, you may be a canine officer and have worked on narcotics investigations.  That does not mean you have had contact with disgruntled drug task force, dea or intel, or alphabets who have been concerned about extreme corruption in their leaders.
I am no current on my local situation, but in the past we had a certain drug task force that had memebers that were themselves involved in "controlled deliveries" and were getting a piece of the action.  They even had special license plates issued to identify them selves to other officers to "stay away".  I knew a dea agent who infiltrated their network, tried to get it stopped at higher levels and it went know where. I have known a retired police intel man for many years that had many high level contacts with congressional committees, justice dept and alphabets.  He provided me with contacts and a great deal of access to documents from govt hearings which never made the light of day. He was disgusted with all the mena, ark barry seal, iran/contra drugs for arms going on being run out of the NSC at the white house.  "John Cathey" (tradecraft name) was caught and convicted, but got off on a pre-arranged technicality.  He was going to retire when he finally beat the rap, but decided not to and still works for fox TV as a program host on a war stories program.  I met with the high ranking officer that trained him in the marines which I was working with on another matter and he told me the story about cathey's ascent into cutout status (how the suits ie spooks got hold of him).  Cathey's favorite phrase was "let's have that man take a long walk off of a short dock". Supposedly cathey has changed his ways and has repented for what he did.  I hope so because the drugs he brought in transformed some major urban areas in the USA into war zones. His calendar plainly showed drug flights scheduled and congressional investigators released copies of this which "some" researchers have.
Locally we used to have "controlled deliveries" at my airport.  The company was an air freight seafood import company apparently owned by the dea. A friend of mine complained to a local police officer who was honest and he tried to investigate. Soon thereafter he refused to talk about it, became very jumpy and ask others to watch his car when it was parked.  We believe he was threatened and his questions went no where since it turns out is was a joint company/dea operation and this was later confirmed by another law enforcement who said "nothing could be done". The officer was transferred and jerked around for awhile but got the message.  In the "fast and furious" matter the BATF heroes that spoke out to Congress and media were all punished and retaliated against initially but risked their lives anyway to stoop this high level criminal operation.  These men are true Heroes and there are many more out there in law enforcement.  I have talked with two intel who were sentenced on phone trumped up charges because they refused to continue going along with these crimes (Michael Maholy and Michael Reconosuito).

Slamdunc, I commend you for your extensive canine training experience and achievements. I expect that in order to have a working police dog in a canine unit would require a very good dog and very good training, so you must have done very well. I would accept the concept that your knowledge and training skills must be very effective if you have a dog in service now.

BATF acting Director Kenneth Melson will be forced to resign.  Some are expecting the family of the US Border Patrol Agent slain with one of the guns sold under this highly illegal "operation Fast & Furious" to sue Melson and higher ups for negligence.  Melson and maybe higher ups should be indicted for criminal negligence and misprision of a felony for "fast & furious" and trying to covering it up (still stonewalling) and perhaps this should include those who ordered this program in the Justice Dept. and beyond in a thinley veiled attempt to set up another Congressional backlash to disarm Americans.

Looks like we now have another "Constitutional Crises" brewing since the Obama Administration is stonewalling and refuses to release documents that have been subpoened by Congress.

Good Summary on how the BATF secret program "Fast and Furious" became exposed.  The family is hopping mad at hs dir. Napolitano and blames her for Brian's murder.  Ordering travelors to be sexually groped and illegally xrayed at the airport isn't enough tyranny, arming the drug cartels is another part of her plan for "total tyranny".  The facts are all coming out now thanks to heroic BATF agents who refused to keep quiet after Agent Brian Terry's murder.

Brian Terry's family speaks about his murder and the BATF and Obama Administration negligence. Excerpts from this Hero's Brian Terry's Funeral (by the way, this agent was a good officer from everyone's descriptions, a real standup guy highly respected and treated the public well too, just plain a very good border patrol officer):

Another American law enforcement hero speaks out.  AZ Sheriff Paul Babeau.

The apparent reason the US Govt won't protect the borders or go after these cartels is because they have provided training and support and have used them for their own purposes.

"Another American law enforcement hero speaks out."

Since when does giving one's opinion make him/her a hero?

"The apparent reason the US Govt won't protect the borders or go after these cartels is because they have provided training and support and have used them for their own purposes."

Speculation; antonyms: fact, proof, reality, truth.

Keith, A high proportion of US Border Patrol Agents according to some farmers that live near the border.  They risk their lives daily against much better equipped and armed drug gangs (thanks to US intel training and support) and yet treat those illegals they capture which are not drug mules humanely. Those who have spoken out are heroic because they know that they can be and usually are punished by higher ups for telling the truth.  So giving one's opinion to congressional investigators about serious problems and corruption that needs to be corrected is heroism, when the usual pattern is abuse, harassment, bad work schedules assigned, oss of benefits and rank, etc.  If you are a police officer Keith, and saw other police participating in drug distribution, stealing flash money or money and drugs at busts, taking bribes, or exchanging protection for sex with working girls, or you were a witness to an abusive unjustified police beating or arrest, would you report it or would you tow the thin blue line?  (don't answer me, just yourself). I know for a fact that the specific BATF Agents that blew the whistle on the illegal, unethical secret program "Operation Fast and Furious" were heroes and some have already been abused, harassed and punished for it.

Many experts view TSA as the new American gestapo forming and see it as using needless tyranny against travelors at airports (their VIPR teams and xray scanners are planned to go to all sporting events, train and bus stations, large office buildings and every major shopping center).  This is massive Federal intrusion into states.

Here is one current attempt by Texas to stop the TSA tyranny at airports.
Popular Texas Senator now compares the Texas legislatures fight to makes TSA's sexual groping illegal to the Revolutionary War:

Here is another.  Former Gov. Jese Ventura is suing TSA to stop it:

Keith, why do you think that the Govt won't arrest intel who provided training for the mexican cartels and those that ordered their arming? There are hundreds of good witnesses and a geat deal of hard evidence.

Why do you think the US Govt won't enforce it's borders when it sends thousands of troops half way around the world to enforce the border between north and south korea?

It is well established fact that massive quantities of illegal drugs are brought into the USA accross the SW border.  In fact Sen Diane Feinstein was given all the facts and personally investigated it and concluded that natural gas trucks owned by the CIA were used to transport the drugs into California at the southern border (and said so on 60 minutes years ago in an interview at the border where she was shown the trucks[zapata] and how customs refused to inspect them--merely waved them through).  She was angry and vowed to get the problem solved but then backed off completely.  Was she paid a "not to worry" visit by intel?  She never retracted, but now sidesteps the issue.

Thousands of police officers, alphabets, and intel have come forth and reported Govt complicity in the masssive narcotics trafficking into the USA. Many have been fired. I personally know of one officer threatened and forced into earlyu retirement and one one reassigned as punishment. Many others have been punished by being given poor work assignments, bad schedules, etc.  Some have been arrested on phoney trumped up charges to discredit and punish them.  Some have been murdered or "arkensided" to appear as suicide.

The OathKeepers put some psychophysics behind the Jose Guerena murder. About time.

Quote from link above :

*" (Like a gelatinous amorphous blob of pulsating undulating mood-bearing omni-directional free-floating mass of unconscious consciousness, the public mind is to be symbolized as a cohesive field of action. We each have a “mind”, and all of our minds together create what Carl Jung dubbed to be the “collective consciousness” of the human race – well over six billion individual minds registering the impulses and vibration-waves from Alpha through ever-how-many frequencies science now knows the brain emits – and all of those minds together constitute the collective mind of mankind. Specific to America, there are over three hundred million individual minds with each being a singular element (like a molecule in your physical body) in the sum total of all American minds. That collective of American minds constitutes what I refer to as the “public mind”. Edward Bernays and his pals of the day back in the 1920s referred to it as the “Group Mind”.)

Remember: The story initially put forth was that the good guys prevailed and the bad guy failed.

That is a perception, and that perception was manufactured using the press and media. The press and media, however, merely reported what the Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokespersons gave them. The spokespersons relating the story to the news people were using the press and media to get a public perception into the public mind or the group mind – the floating resilient elastic amorphous collective consciousness. It appealed to a common meme, and the news outlets dutifully reported it. Some in the news business at Tucson felt the sting when it came out later that Jose had not fired. (Oath Keepers especially would like to salute KGUN9 of Tucson.)" *
