Shelley Strohl

Thanks for the kind words, one and all. Made my day. :-D I will now collapse into an exhausted heap for a long rest. Night all, SS

Shelley, if possible could you post a picture of this youngster sometime? It would be kinda neat to see who we were all rooting for. I can sure empathize with the gut aching fear that the worst has happened.

Shelley, Yippee! A happy ending! You and your pup were in my prayers! As for the previous poster, he/she "seriously" has a heart and soul missing.............not even worth responding to such insensitive remarks.

I'm happy for the puppy that it was not stolen, injured, or killed. THAT should go without saying. But having only six kennels, and losing a puppy, and instead of searching for the puppy you misplaced running to a computer to claim it was stolen is irresponsible and ridiculous. Continue to pat each other's backs instead of being honest about what happens....

Seriously, I understand your frustration, but maybe in a panic you forget the basics and do something you wouldn't ordinarily. Yes, most kennels would do an immediate 'head count' before anything else. But occasionally we panic and don't follow the norm. It's over, the pup is fine and possibly a lesson learned.

Three people performed "head counts" as you call them, with me that night and the nearest neighbors were contacted prior to alerting anyone outside our neighborhood. Brazen belongs to one of our club helpers, who lives on the property. It wasn't till he got home from work that we knew for certain that the puppy was truly "missing," as he does occasionally take Brazen with him. Hence the delay between the approximate time disappearance and the alerts and the police report. We have a very strong "neighborhood watch" program around here, particularly on weekends. I suspect one of the neighbors came home from dinner or something later that night to find one of their kids had a puppy at about the same time they got a message on their voice mail that one was missing from my kennel. We are not asking questions, just happy he is back safe and sound. Thanks again. SS
