Its not just about the dog's either.

I don't know that I could've bit my tongue. A see a lot of BS at work but I have to be professional and keep my mouth shut if a client wants to breed their dog they bought from a pet store, or be dimplomatic if someone asks me "what I think" about a local puppy mill crap breeder. But on my own time, in my own neighborhood...boy, I might've let it rip.

But all it makes me is that much more determined. I've been struck with crap luck right and left on my road to become a breeder, but shit like this makes me want to stick to it, because I know I can do better, for the breed, for my buyers, and for my dogs.

Two Moons, we all need to vent sometimes. At least other dog people people understand the utter disgust of the whole situation.

 I also know there's not much I can do about any of it.    Disgust is the correct word.

Tess, yes, they are getting three hundred apiece for them. Poor bitch is having eight to ten pups a litter back to back. That's why I didn't bother saying more than I have. These type of people are not going to walk away from a money factory like that over ethics.

I'm sorry i must have miss read does this "human" have a few bitches? the first one was 8 months old then has had 4 litters? or was her 1st litter @ 8 months, I know this is not really a valid Q but just to keep up with the story

I think the only thing we can do is to talk and educate ppl in what IS a BYB and what to look out for, what questions to ask, and a few other pointers, this could be done with fliers in a letter drop in a neighbourhood at a time...before Christmas!!! I am taking this to my local animal shelter and vets to see if we can draw it up.

Milli, it is one bitch, first litter was around eight months and just had litter number four, from what the boyfriend said. He was really happy with his extra income.

We are roughly two miles from a well travelled road. He puts his big 'ol poster at the intersection. I could just go and rip it down. But then what? He gets stuck with the puppies, who are all thrown in the back yard together.  No doubt they would just breed and rebreed as they got older like too many rabbits in a pen.

It's just a lose/lose for all the animals involved. That's the part I needed to vent about. Like I said, my hands are tied and there is nothing I can do about it.

Dawgs,  sometimes this message board sounds like your neighbors place......... 

Yeah, huh?  What I don't get is how a person can read this board for any length of time and then post BS about how great their breedings are like everyone is going to agree? It ain't the dogs that need to be spayed.
