I can cope just fine. I got tired of reading the bellyaching about them. I had no issues with them personally but a certain person did and as a matter of fact used a very derogatory name calling out an admin so when we get to that point yes I would rather they be gone.
Moons you were one of the people abusing them so it is no surprise at your attitude. You are the one who couldn't cope as you used them on perfectly great posts and that is sad, please check your innocent self-righteousness at someone else's door.
And once again PDB does not sell social clicks. Nor will PDB ever sell social clicks try Facebook and all the other social sites.
Our likes/dislikes were for our members only and would still be there had members like you not abused them so badly.

My attitude is very simple, I find the whole issue silly and childish.

Some time ago, I posted some information to help other posters. I was absolutely shocked to find that they collected Dislikes. I do not think except for this one, posted any more posts. If a kindness post is disliked, then why spend the time of posting?

As far as the likes/dislikes go so all the members who want them because they used them properly are silly and childish? Wow, you have just slammed a lot of members on this thread who have voiced an opinion on wanting the likes for various reasons.
You abuse a dislike by disliking a good post a post that is not slamming another member or causing drama - but hey that is what you live for and crave. You admit it in your last paragraph.
I like some of the above ideas and will try and work with Oli to get him to implement them but he is busy so we will have to wait for some slow time for him to get this done. I have already suggested to Oli to have a way to bookmark - or save a thread beyond making a comment on it.
