Just to bring all you gracious individuals that encouraged, gave me information and imparted a sense of ease to a tough situation and Big Thank You!
The mother of my puppies, 12, has had a rough going. After talking with a couple different vets and visited other sites for information, the concensus was to wait on the continued blood staining. As of last night, she was still spotting bot a much deminished vs where she was over the weekend. I lost three. One I was quite sure I would lose from the get go, and the other two a couple of days later. I tried starting a supplemental feeding and nearly drowned one and the squirmely little things made it very difficult. I decided to abandoned that and let nature took its course. I believe that if I continued trying, I would have lost a bunch more and because of my work schedule, I would not have had time to do this.
Getting back to mom, the vets said she could be spotting/bleeding for up to a couple of weeks even three, in the abnormal stage, but not to worry. I saw the same info. on the net from various professionals. Her diet is on again off again. I am spoon feeding her mainly yogurt, different flavours, just to get the energy and the probiotics going. But I have a lot of Elk meat which I got a week ago that I cut up in small pieces and she will eat this on a limited basis. Lots of water. She did not want the goat's milk. I have tried a full scale menu that would put most four star restuarant to shame, and she ignored all of dishes placed in front of her. She is tired, very tired, but I do let her out on a 15 to 20 spell to get away from the pups, plus the box is quite warm and I'm sure she welcome the cool Colorado air.
I'm going to try and post a picture I took of the remaining 9. I'm hoping all will survice and I do get back mom to her initial playful and wonder self soon. I'm not sure I'm going to attempt this again.
I do have a picture but it is JPG and am having a difficult time inserting it here. I could use some help posting the picture.
Thanks again for all your help.

I hope everything is ok with your bitch and the pups. Once they get over the 4 week mark you'll let out a sigh of relief. However, that's when the work really starts.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks Fell-off-her! I needed that! I though that was exactly what I was doing now, but every one I talk to concurred with your comment. THAT'S when the REAL work starts.

Tenmon, all the best with the mom and pups. Breeding is indeed not easy, and can be exhausting and a real emotional roller coaster. You have to be prepared to loose a few, and for the cost of a possible C-section, or followup vet care for mom and pups when things do not go well.
Posting pictures here is a (pardon the expression!) bitch. First of all, click on the icon above that looks like a mountain and sun. Then select 'upload', then browse. Browse through your files until you find the picture you want, click on it, then click on 'send it to the server.' (Hint: the server takes forever to upload a picture that's larger than 1 MB, so you may want to check the size of the picture BEFORE attempting to upload it.)
Once it is uploaded, the size will show up in a box. Adjust the size to around 400-500 pixels. Adjust the width, and the height will adjust automatically to keep the photo in proportion. This will give a nice sized photo, without stretching the page or taking forever to load. (Some people here are on dialup, and large photos stall the loading of the threads for them.)
Once you've adjusted the size, just click on 'OK' and you're done! You can go back and edit the picture if it's too large. If you are loading more than one photo, make SURE you hit 'enter' a couple of times between uploads, or the photos will be side-by-side, and stretch the page, which is a rea pita for people trying to read posts.

Hi Sunsilver, I tried but after the upload was completed, it flicked me back to the image info screen but no image. I'm starting to see what you mean about being a pita! I will keep trying though.
Thanks

Or you can edit your own photo's by right clicking on the photo and selecting make thumbnail. I have to do this with all of mine, the files are to large to upload.

Tenmon: I would try to get mama dog to eat, how about trying hamburger, chicken, rice mixed with meat; raw liver in small amounts would be really good for her or raw organ meats; anything that she will eat. A litter of 9 is still fairly large. Still keep watch on her temperature as that is key for her health. YOu don't want anything to happen to her.
If she is used to raw diet, maybe just sear the elk or meat to get the smell going to entice her a little but it is very important for her to eat and get calories into her.
Best of luck Nanci
