Do something productive with yourself go help unwanted children.

Well, if dog breeders would not keep more dogs than they can properly feed and water and not house their dogs in unsanitary conditions, there would be no need for humane societies to exist in the dog world, would there?
You're sound like a real tough guy, Garrison. Don't assume that caring about abused animals automatically disqualifies your peers from also caring about and working with abused children. Often they both come from the same environment; and one isn't necessarily exclusive of the other. I am familiar with one case where several children were finally taken from their abusive father after he got drunk and tethered the family dog to a tree and preceded to amputate its legs with a chain saw making the kids watch. The dog's sin was trying to comfort one of the kids, a 3 year old, after he had received a bloody nose from daddy dearest for wetting his pants.

Paul, are you really this big of an idiot? You'd defend animal abusers just because you don't understand the difference between animal welfare and animal rights organizations? What a stupid argument, too, "go help unwanted children". Beyond dumb.
And Midgie, interesting idea that a little abuse, like the fly chewed off ears due to human neglect, isn't all that big a deal. Only really bad abuse is something we should care about? And for you, that would be standing in a foot of feces and being able to count every rib. Really?

I'm going to retract my earlier statement a bit. Not the statement itself, because I absolutely stand behind it in the context I was writing about. My mistake came when skimmed the article and though my eyes surely saw what was on the screen, My brain automatically was thinking PETA and HSUS. 2 org's that exist to prey off people's emotions to make those at the top rich rather than put money towards their stated goals.
I see i was completely wrong about who was behind this, and that was obvious when I looked at the article again. Don't know how I arrived at my first conclusion, but I did.
Beyond that, as long as people take care of what is theres, dog's are loved and cared for, I don't think anybody has any right to judge the next. Saving one dog over another isn't any more noble than the next. I don't see any fault in spending huge resources in time and money to save the worst of the worst if that's what you want to do. I also don't see any fault in the person that gets one dog and gives it the best life possible or the person that might foster 10 dogs in their lifetime or the one that takes in the 3 legged dog with Pancreatic Insufficiency, cancer and cateracts and puts their love, devotion and attention towards it. I also don't fault the person that will put that same dog down and use their resources to help 3 others. Nobody stands above the other.

In this case there was enough document evidence of animal abuse for a jury to return a guilty verdict in 4 hours. He received the most stringent sentence for animal abuse ever handed out in the state of MT. The video Midgie is referring to is the cut version, the original was 15 minutes in length. The cut version was released to the media, the jury saw it in its entirety.
I have no doubt that sometimes people are unjustly accused of animal abuse - this was not one of those times

Zdog
I agree.
I do not care what one does with their own animals and their own lives, but why push them on everybody else, is my point. They kill peoples dogs as much as they save. What did Floyd Boudreaux do? These people and people just like them caused harm to them and a lot of others.
Blixen and Beetree you two are way out of control.

Paul, that is you talking crazy.
by Blitzen on 14 March 2013 - 13:03
"Way out of control"? Why do you say that?
by Paul Garrison on 14 March 2013 - 13:03
If objecting to putting animals in front of people and going to anyone property and taking their animals or anything that belongs to them by force is crazy then I am crazy, and you should consider what the Communist have done. We need to, and I will, stand up for our rights. The Left wing and many of the right wing are taking our rights away at the speed of light. Keep supporting these groups and you won't have any rights at all.

Okey dokey.
