Rick,
You and Frank have done everything, but draw it in crayon. If people choose to be obtuse and refuse to comprehend, that is their problem. The fact is that GSDCA does not want to ISSUE a scorebook . It would upset all of their AKC-show/pet folks to whom "bite" is one of the worst four-letter words. Consequently, the attempted subterfuge...which USCA correctly refuses to swallow. (I don't care which organizations do swallow it.)
When Danny S was president, there was, for the first time, a trial requirement for WDA clubs. That lasted for only a very brief period--maybe a year or two. Rather than bitch about not being able to enter USCA trials with a WDA scorebook (which USCA does not and will not recognize), get WDA members would do better to get their parent club, GSDCA, to actually issue a scorebook. Make their chosen organization function for them. I don't understand why that is so difficult. Instead of posting here to Alloway et al, communicate with your own organization's leaders and get them to respond. They are the ones who owe you a response. There is apparently a new WDA in Houston that could host a trial for WDA members in that area....if it were so inclined.

GSDCA should issue a scorebook if they are international members of either FCI or WUSV....does make sense.

You are probably on to something, but, likely not what you are thinking.
Look at your own organization, the GSDCA.
Why wouldn't they issue you a scorebook?
Hmmm......,
Maybe because after the WUSV event this year they will dismantle what is left of the WDA?
(Issuing a scorebook at this point would create a whole new set of problems for the GSDCA if this is their intention.)
Maybe they are hoping that all of the people that want to compete in IPO trials will leave, the other conformation only people will stay, and then the GSDCA can go back to be being a show dog club only?
Dan Yee, President of the WDA, is trying to put up a good fight, and while it is probably well intentioned, likely it is also misguided.
He should have a long talk with Danny S. before he goes too far with this.
There is a reason GSDCA is unresponsive to your plight. You may want to look in to it further.
As for the WUSV, I am guessing they have not answered yet because they need time to look in to the matter.
My guess is that there is a problem with the present scorebooks and they are trying to figure out a way to salvage the situation without too much embarrassment to the GSDCA with them being the host club for the WUSV Championship this year.
When they have it resolved on their end, they will answer.

I absolutley agree with you. Your post, i,m sure has alot of truth in it. I,ve been saying all along the WDA needs to address the issue with the GSDCA not UScA It,s a internal orginization issue.

Taken from the GSDCA's Bylaws (objectives):
"To urge the members and breeders to accept the standards of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the ONLY standard of excellence by which the German Shepherd Dog SHALL be judged."
That standard stands in stark contrast to those espoused by the FCI, SV, WUSV, and UScA.
It is because of that standard that the GSDCA will not issue a scorebook and in fact accept IPO or a vision for the breed contrary to their own; nor should they.
Why anyone who advocates the German SV standard for our breed would also support through their membership the GSDCA and their vision/advocacy for the American Showline "as the ONLY standard of excellence for which the German Shepherd Dog SHALL be judged" is beyond my comprehension.
To each their own and I would not suppose to infringe upon that.
But, I also support the UScA and it's membership choosing "not to play.". That the WUSV has chosen otherwise is either a misunderstanding of the GSDCA's mandate or a concerted effort to keep divided the second largest voting block within the WUSV further solidifying SV dominance.

And, to make my personal position clear:
I am an absolute advocate of UScA, WDA, and all other individuals who advocate for the German SV standard to reside in a SINGLE National Breed Club as exists in every other WUSV member nation.
To be divided merely dilutes our influence and standing on the World stage.
Best,
Kevin

And, to those WDA members who "choose" continued subservience to the GSDCA as a very small, minority "offshoot," just try and get them (the GSDCA) to issue you a scorebook in de facto recognition of your vision for the breed.
GSDCA and a small group of WDA members also have a vested interest in keeping us divided.

On the GSDCA's website it clearly states that the GSDCA and the WDA are separate and apart.
On the WDA's website, it is clearly written in the WDA By Laws:
Section 2. Structure. The GSDCA-WDA is a corporation separate and apart from the German Shepherd Dog Club of America (“GSDCA”) but shall be closely allied and associated with the aims, purposes and pursuits of the GSDCA.
If the GSDCA would issue the scorebooks, there would no longer be a use for the WDA. Am I right in this conclusion? Handler/Owner gets GSDCA Scorebook and can title at any trial across the country, regardless of club affiliation.
It is a mess and I really empathize with the owners and handlers who are suddenly thrown into this confusion about their scorebooks. I do however understand and comprehend USCA's current position on this. Following the letter of the law, they are absolutely correct in their position, IMHO.
Wishing for quick resolution to this mess.

Hi, Sunshine,
It really need not be a "mess."
Either GSDCA issues the scorebook directly de facto recognizing the SV Breed Standard
or
The WDA gains their own recognition from the WUSV.
BTW, the WUSV does not recognize multiple breed clubs from any other nation. Why would they force/encourage it upon us?
And, are we wise to continue down this course?
I think not....

Like i said, it is irresponsible for the GSDCA to not issue a scorebook, and if this is the USCA position....then it makes sense. It is very disheartening to read the quote that Kevin Nance posted from the GSDCA by-laws....that is absurd to say or imply that that AKC is only acceptable standard....that is height of arrogance and hypocrisy, imo and especially when the whole world laughs at the dogs that are bred to that standard......really disheartening. I still think that WDA and USCA basically want the same things ....but GSDCA hosting WUSV and having that in by-laws is incredible.
