I think the problem is also the history of the Kennel.  I cannot understand why they have gotten so large when originally they did and sometimes still do have magnificent dogs.  My avatar's sire is a Kraftwerk dog and he has Lord and other very good lines in his background and I could not ask for a better dog.  But honestly, if my dog had come from there, I would not have bought him.  I bought him from Melinda and vom Gildaf and she makes sure that the dogs lineage is healthy, including DM testing.

My 10 year old N/M Pom started having seizures earlier this year.  No cause was found and he is on medication for it.  He has also become somewhat incontinent.  If someone would have told me that some day I would have hairy yip-yips and be changing his "diaper", I would have said you are nuts.  What Smile

The worst one he had was just horrible.  On his back, flailing his legs, eyes rolled back in his head and a horrible screaming.  'Bout broke my heart and scared me to death.

sorry about yr loss, terrible news.

interesting about this kennel - i was interested in getting a dog from them after reading an article by the kennel owner as being one of the best breeders outside of europe, the working standard, dedication to the breed.....i nearly bought several dogs after reading the article it was THAT GOOD in fact i thought the dogs would be too good for a first time GSD owner and i purchased elswhere thinking i will learn on my lesser dog and when i become awesome i will get a top of the range model from Kraftwerk as that is as good as it gets - now i hear this? i will not take one thread as gospel but please pm me if people feel this kennel is not as good as their own hype claim.

Didn't they have problems with their dogs about 4-5 yrs ago also? I remember reading where their dogs had something going on with them when I was looking for my dog, and I avoided them. I wish I could remember what it was.

I was looking at a pedigree today on a puppy and skipped right over it because the grandpa was a kraftwerk dog.   Right or wrong where there is smoke there is fire. Maybe the dog in this pedigree is problem free etc but just not with it to me after reading all of these horror stories from all of these seizure dogs.

When I bought my girl I had no clue about it but so far I have not seen any dogs in her pedigree mentioned

Kraftwerk are one of mine competitors. They have better marketing scheme, more start up money and they are thus much bigger and thus more successful as a business then I am. I have parallel existence with them and do not talk good or bad if someone asks me.
That said I will say these  worn out truisms.
1.There are at least 3 sides to the story. Keep that in mind at all times.
2. If you are in business long enough and especially if you are success, then  there will be people who hate you or try to take advantage of you one way or the other. Competition, dissatisfied customers, cheats   and  psychos of many sorts. They will post on Internet their opinion or their side of the story.  What about the other 2 side of the story? Even the worse post which sounds true against someone may not be the truth.
3. The question which  remains; is the business ethical. Do they ever or never err on side which benefits the customers. If not why? Is it ethics question or because they are dealing with cheats or psychos?  Or are they cheats or psychos them selves?
I would be very careful to condemn anybody on public forum or in your own mind without knowing the true facts. Yes if you have doubts then go with the gut feeling. But distinguish that from  making definte staements of negative nature  which may  not necessarily be and probably is not true and correct perception. I have learned that everything always sounds great until you hear the other side of the story or different opinion based on different perception.

still 4-5 thousand dollars for a puppy is way too much, they are a marketing scam and it looks like many people fall for it
