So then homosexuals can do the same, they can repent. A child molester can wait years and still have feelings for children but if he repents all is good and forgotten, no matter the heinous crimes he commits.
Well I know this will go over like a lead balloon but I hope I don't go to heaven as I can't stand the thought of being next to a child molester all in the name of heaven.
I don't believe this non-sense no God of mine is going to allow this type of hurt on an innocent child of God to go unpunished. Unbelievable to even think a child predator would dwell in the house of the lord.
Define repent for me? What is it? If you repent you turn away from that, you practice it no more. An example is when you repent from your sins, you turn to God to serve Him, and go to be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins if you have not yet been baptized..... There are times even after baptism where repentence is needed, Simon is an example of that who sinned grievously in Acts 8 and was told to pray and repent of his sins. Yes, we are human, humans who have had problems in the past at times may have the "scars" left over where they at times think of certain thoughts about their past or things they use to do. You do need to consider as well that in Christ there is not male or female. Not in the earthly sense, of course we are considered male or female on earth as we were created that way as mentioned of Adam and Eve, but no male nor female as it will be as in Heaven.
Revelation 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Very little chance of a child molester or serial killer changing their ways when they are free and the world is a buffet line to them
The point with that is however, that people have to "want" to change. No one will ever change unless they desire to. And if brought up with Christian values, developing a good conscious, and doing what the New Testament calls for Christians to do.....then these things wouldn't happen. You wouldn't have AIDs all over the place in other countries, or people with STDs all the time, or drunk drivers killing other people, or bar fights, or violent riots, or people being child molesters, drug abusers, etc etc.
Like I mentioned, Paul (formally known as Saul) use to persecute the Church. He had no heart for those who were dragged out to be killed for that matter But yet he was converted. He did not live all of his life in a prison either, he did preach to others in the world. I know of some in the congregation itself that I worship with who use to have problems, a couple of them were alcoholics. One who use to be there (he preaches in another state now) was a former bank robber. That is their past lives, they have moved on from that.......in the real world......and strive to do what the scriptures say. These things very well can happen as long as people "want" to make it happen. It's always the fact that there are many who "claim" they want to change, but yet, "well why didn't you"......And on come the excuses.

Vonissk,
Translation1:
But opening his house freely to guests; a lover of what is good, serious-minded, upright, holy, self-controlled; Keeping to the true word of the teaching, so that he may be able to give comfort by right teaching and overcome the arguments of the doubters. For there are men who are not ruled by law; foolish talkers, false teachers, specially those of the circumcision, By whom some families have been completely overturned; who take money for teaching things which are not right; these will have to be stopped.
Titus 1:8-11
But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

I think my old post is appropriate and good refresh for some people.
The first step to be reborn again is to become the believer, one who has accepted Jesus Christ as a personal saver. The second step to be truly reborn is to crucify your sin on the cross and repent from sin. (Repent means - make 180 degrees turn) "You have to confess your sins"
Life of the human divides into two measurements; exterior is the flesh style of life and interior is the spiritual style of life. Exterior is to live the life how our flesh desires, and interior / spiritual is to live and dress the life how God wants.
Romans Chapter 8
[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Not I who set myself free, but the law of spirit; his heavenly power has set me free from the law of sin. And the spirit law of life - it doesn’t destroys the sin; sin did NOT died, sin continues to tempt, but I died for the sin and if I died for the sin - then the sin will no longer scares me with charms/attractions or desires. The power of Holy Spirit overcomes/conquers the sin desires and it overcomes the sin appetency / inclination. And because of that human does NOT fall - but fly’s on the wings of faith above this sinful world and has direct contact with the living God.
Our flesh didn’t born upwards / over, and our flesh does NOT inherent the kingdom of God, but the Bible says that our flesh can bereave / divest the kingdom of God. So our goal / task is to learn with our flesh to say / tell no. This is what we have too should do… If we say no to our flesh then suddenly embarked the power of God’s spirit, but if we say to our flesh yes – then the Holy Spirit indent / steps back to the side and we fulfill the desires of our flesh.
In order to live by the spirit - Bible says we should crucify our egoism, meaning our pride. To die for ourselves is only possible on Golgotha with the Christ. You see the sheep when dies, it dies very quietly, question is why? The sheep agrees to become a victim. Have you ever heard how the pig dies – it simply bawls and refuses – it does NOT want to be victim. And sometimes the people are the same way…

Keith, The Old Testament spoke of Gods plan from the start. Starting in Genesis and was the purpose throughout the whole Old Testament.. A Saviour, virgin birth, ect...So, there being other religions with these concepts before the birth of Christ is not a surprise to me and does not prove anything to me either way..

by Keith Grossman on 23 July 2012 - 20:07
No, Deanna, these religions predate the old testament as well. One of them predates it by over 1,000 years and describes a horrific flood...

by Hundmutter on 23 July 2012 - 20:07
Ruger I was simply pointing out that the religious seem perfectly capable of cherry picking the Biblical rules they wish to abide by and totally ignoring those that don't fit their lifestyle ; so it is nonsense to make it sound as though only
non-believers want to do so.
non-believers want to do so.

Here is the account of Saul/Paul on the road Damascus..Acts 9:1-9
Please tell me what Saul/Paul did to cause his conversion. What decision did he make?. What prayer did he say? What thing did he do to bring himself to Christ?..
Note!! What frame of mind was Saul/Paul in at the time Christ came to him on the road?..
Anyone is free to answer. but it is mainly directed to professing Christians

Hundmutter,,I see, I agree with you. I think Christians do cherry pick too. A good example of this is condemning a gay person and looking lightly over their own pride or their "little, white lies."..
Hypocrisy is very common among professing Christians,,..
