IMO the definition of a "puppy mill" can vary from breed to breed. It might be more appropriate to use the term "overbreeding" based on the number of dogs of that specific breed that are sitting in rescue somewhere. When one resuce has 250 dogs of the same breed looking for forever homes, breeders having multiple years per year might fall into that catagory regardless of how clean their dog are kept. When you think about it, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to keep breeding any breed when the number of dogs bred outnumber the appropriate homes available which is the case in many breeds.

That would be why I don't breed Pit Bulls. Love the dogs but they are grossly overbred and sought out by idiots. 1/2 the dogs in our shelters are part Pit.

4-pack, And the other 1/2 are Labs.
