blair built gsd

by blair built gsd on 11 June 2010 - 05:06

They have great dogs even the ones not titled are better than most you will get else were.  Sorry you had a problem if you cant work with him you have problems.  When i talked with him about a pup he was willing to come way down in price to get me a good dog.  I mean it was as cheap as 95% of the other good breeders how do you beat that look at the dogs hes had follow there lines to all the other west German lines.  I say get a pup from him if you don't like it i will find you one and trade lol.

I got a puppy (now 15-month teenager) from Bill after my soul dog died last March, and I couldn't be happier.  Yes, Zola seemed cow-hocked at first but he grew out of it quickly. I still prefer a GSD without such excessive rear angulation and I still prefer a more working line physique, but unfortunately, that is what the (show) standard seems to be nowadays. Because my last GSD had so many health problems, the thing that was most critical to me was not show or working lines, but getting a dog from a breeder who wouldn't carelessly breed health problems and who could minimise my risk of getting a GSD with severe health issues. Thus far, <knock on wood> that's what I've gotten.

But what I've also gotten is what has to be one of the smartest GSDs I've ever owned. Even better, he's got the most amazingly sweet temperament and personality of any dog I've ever owned (and I've owned a LOT!).  I actually never thought I could love a dog even a fraction as much as I did my soul dog when he died, and much against my will (and with a lot of guilt), I've completely succumbed to Zola's sweetness, his incredible responsiveness, his massively affectionate personality and his huge intelligence. I feel as though I'm commiting heresy in saying this, but Zola is actually smarter than my late Kafka (who was, up to now, the smartest dog I've ever encountered. And Kafka was from the famous Troll. -- (V Troll von der bösen Nachbarschaft V-BSP 1990, SG-BSP 1993, G-BSP 1991, SCHH3 Kkl 1 .))

BTW, to the person who waited for the papers from Bill, I did too. For several months. But I did get them. My boy was whelped in Germany and maybe that's the excuse, or maybe Bill just has a lot on his plate, but either way, he won't cheat you. He will get them to you.

I'll be honest and say that my only frustration is that the dogs seem to have a HUGE degree of rear angulation, but that is not Bill's issue. IMO, that's the fault of conformation standards today. Yes, I get damn tired of every Tom, Dick and Harry thinking that my boy (15 months old) has HD, and hearing the comments endlessly since I got him at 3 and 1/2 months of age. But X-rays and tests show nothing, and the real fault lies in the show world that has changed the GSDs look dramatically over the past 50 or more years. All that said, having a dog that has THIS perfect temperament.... it's worth it's weight in gold. GOLD!  After 4 GSDs from great lines who had endless problems, I wouldn't give it up for anything. No dog-aggression, no fear-aggression, no insane stubborness and test-of-wills over the smallest thing, but at the same time a hard drive, endless energy (actually, CRAZY amounts of energy and need for constant mental stimulation), wickedly smart and at the same time, so damn affectionate.  The only real (behavioral) problem I have with him is that he seems to be an exercise-junkie and nothing I do wipes him out. It's bloody exhausting! It's like he's the freaking Energiser bunny and even after today's 3-hr workout/training session, he's still on the go. For the love of God, take a valium!

Long time a ago, I know a story a person  bought a puppy GSD from Bill Fleischerheim Jr.

The pup was very nice, later when the pup got older he discover that his dog is missing a tooth, after careful exam the tooth never grew - it was some-kind generic fault, the pup was less then 8 months when this person discover that. And he contacted Bill about the issue and Bill refuse to do anything about, his contract guarantee on the pup does not cover that; this person end up very sad.

very expensive, you can go to a million other breeders and get the same quality for much less. Especially, his imports I have been selling the same import as him before and sometimes his price is $9,000 more than mine on the same dog. If you want a nice import look at www.buydog.us

by greenman on 11 June 2010 - 22:06

everyones puppy price are usually a little more expensive for first pick male/female and the rest is the same price. What other kennel you guys see in the world that has multiple so called "Ultimate Supreme" male/female in a litter for sale for $7500 and up? you can get 3-5 puppies from other breeder for the same price as his "Ultimate Supreme" crap.

the only cheap puppy from fleischerheim is some small puny one nut long hair puppy for $1500-3000. you can get better qualities puppy elsewhere for the same price as his "Choice"  "Select" price.

you can get the similar breeding from VA-V SCH3 parents for a quarter of his price from somewhere else.

fleischerheim is a puppy peddler who buys title dogs from germany to sell in america for a lot of $$$$. do your research and buy from the source or other here for a lot cheaper.

Well he certainly has nice dogs like Larus. BUT, to me his prices are out of the question. HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU TELL IF AN 8 WEEK OLD PUPPY IS WORTH U 7000 dollars! Now i understand that there is a puppy that stands out, but surely you can not tell something like that at eight weeks, when teeth aren't formed, ears are not upright, coat isn't fully out, height (it could be too tall for example), etc. If you want to price a pup like that I wouldn't buy the dog until it is about  a  year. And it worries me because who would buy from them? People mostly who haven't done their homework and believe they have a "champion dog"! There lines are nice, and I would buy from them if their program was hobby. There are many breeders who have the same lines and charge only max 2000!

I would go with a different breeder.

Even if the price is high and it is i am not saying that they are cheap pups you can get a deal.  If you call him tell him what you want and how much you have to spend he will get you a good dog.  And is that not the most important thing a beeder can do for you?  Even if he didnt have some of the best lines in the US but he does have some of the best all around lines  in my mind.  You can get as good of a dog in other kennels but you cant go wrong with Bill  dont listen to the haters call the man.

We bought a GSD from Team Fleischerheim 4 years ago here in CA.  We paid a pretty penny for her and she's worth every cent.  Her name is Aranka Vom Fleischerheim.  I wish I could have shown her as I know she would've done well but illness prevented it.  She is an absolutely beautiful dog with a temperament to match.  I would recommend  GSD's from this part of the team anyday!!
