A state of emergency was declared in my county and all roads have been closed. I am amazed and grateful that my power is still on, thousand have lost theirs. I slept in my (heated) garage last night ready to whisk my newborns in front of my fireplace should it go out. Most nerve wracking 48 hours. We filled water jugs, washed laundry, stockpiled wood but it looks like we're past the worst. I've already read in the news some motorists were trapped in their cars for 12 hours.

Hey Mira.....that looks similar to MY front door!...except, it would also have to include the loooong driveway, that curves downward towards the main road.......(poor hubby of mine.)
I pray the worst is now over......

Wow.......Mira, we would DIE if we had that much snow down here. The most snow I've ever seen down here is 6 inches, and to us that was a blizzard. And that's extremely rare down here.

We have so much snow in New England this year that we are running out of room to put it.
Snowing, sleeting for the last 24 hrs. I've been plowing for 2 days.
The side streets are so loaded with snow it's hard for two vehicles to pass each other. The snow banks are so high that when you get to an intersection you can't see left or right. You basically have to nose out, accidents galore.
Some buildings with flat roofs have caved in.
Guess what? More snow coming Sat.

Fairly short lived here. The wind has already died down, and now it looks clear as a bell out there. Roads are re-opened. Looks like I'm back to work tomorrow.

We made it through the blizzard. We had snow up to our behinds well at least out knees. But finally the diveway has been cleaned out the sidewalk has been snow-blowed. My poor JRT got lost in a snow bank in the back yard and ,y Toy Fox refuses to go out period. Of course the Malinois love it and would stay out for hours if I would let them. The news said we can look forward to another lake effect snow next week - geesh can hardly wait.
