Some of you totally, completely, and utterly miss what others are saying.

It's a nice course (the OP). Good for them for bothering to build it well. Good for them for working the dog on obstacles. The point some are making that is being taken as defiant is totally being misinterpreted. The point is that it's sad that so many of you are blown away by this stuff because instead of doing these kinds of things w/your dog, you're online bickering and trying to prove your expertise (and consequently showing your inexperience). If you did this stuff w/your dog- if you bothered to consider what your dog might be capable of- you would probably REALLY be shocked. That course is well built, but not that hard, or at least not that hard for a dog/handler team who has mutual respect. Your dogs CAN do that, if you'd only bother to let them show you. And anyone who is selling PPDs really shouldn't be impressed by this. This should be a typical day's work. This kind of course can be used for so many purposes that sadly, 99% of those selling "PPDs" have no clue about.

And Kelly, he was joking! I'm sure of it. ;-) LOL

My dog actually used to get called "Circus Dog" by a moron who frequents this board. He was also criticized and mocked, being called "The dog who knows 265 commands." Now THOSE people were simply defiant....or just plain haters! ;-) Or both.

It's not about taking anything away from the dogs; it's about how pathetically sad it is that this stuff seems so unattainable and far fetched for most "working dogs" and their handlers.

I would have thought this was the exception....not the rule,,,My Bad..

If this is the rule, I am impressed and ashamed that I have not tried some of this myself....

Me and Prince are off to the playground.....

I can only speak for myself.  My big accomplishment in the dog world was earning the PDC.  So I was impressed.  I can understand though for a person of your skill level how you would say that.

That makes sense

I wish I had access to a course like this. Although there are obstacles everywhere around us, you just have to use your brain to find them. I believe doing obstacles with your dog really builds thier confidence and makes a stronger bond with the handler. Thats just from my experience with my dog. It is truely amazing what these dogs are capable of.

That dog could fall and injure his tongue and then he would not be able to eat!  How could you be so irresponsible?
