How could it happen?
Hips could be evaluated wrong in one or the other country, were positioned wrong, film was not developed properly, the evaluator did not get laid for more then 3 days, or got drunk last night, clerical error, or the first x ray were taken in 15 mo and the other in later age, dog got hurt,..................
Why don't you show us the Cray. I personally do not give a damn about evaluations I need to see it for my self.

so hans , you rule out the option that people try to screw other people
no drunken vet or bad picture can make A hips into totally wrecked hips

I was offered a nice 16 month male once ,great pedigree also ,I checked in the ear  if the tattoo matched
and found out it matched , only the tattoowounds were not completely healed , the tattoo was a few days old max.

people try to cheat people evrywhere

Also to note, an "A2" is a rating under the German SV's hip scheme, not the international FCI's rating of "B" or the old Czech rating.

Good point Daryl ! so something fishy going on,the dog himself is a very good looking level headed good pigment, well contructed dog ,so something is being buried somewhere, just cant understand what and why.

Coincidently, the FCI also has a scheme breakdown of A1,A2,B1,B2..... but it doesn't apply for the german shepherd breed, which is a plain-letter rating of A, B, C, etc.

In the United States, Schutzhund USA (with GSDCA) has a program to get your dog hip certified under the german system, but I'm unsure if other countries have a similar option?

A2 is fast normal.BVA 34  is equal to A3 or noch zugelassen as I have just googled so I wouldn´t be that sure that the seller wanted to cheat you. This happens quite often - I know a lot of people here in Slovakia whi had their dogs hips evaluated by the vet certified by SUCHNO/Slovakian GSD club/ to do that and also by SV vets getting different results,e.g. SUCHNO vet gave B stamp and SV vet gave A1stamp.Hans stated pretty clearly what can be the reasons for that.It would help a lot if you had x-rays and posted them here,Hans,Bob,Molly,Jenni and also others can read them pretty well.

I think its becoming pretty clear to me that someone may have been abit lax when reading the dogs scores and someone else being a little harsh, this could be the problem ,right ??

Also how harsh is a score of BVA 34,in breeding terms, someone mentioned earlier that 34 aint that bad but the rest of my dogs have between BVA 0/0 to 6/4,thanks

Well, if the BVA rating is similar or the same as the Australian ratings (and it may be, since from zero to "106") then BVA34 is probably probably as cage suggests, a rough equivalent of "a3" or "NZ" or "C" hips.  Not exactly, but "roughly", and it's not clear what those "nine separate features by employing a set of defined criteria" are, that are being evaluated in the BVA scheme.

For those who love charts...  ;-)
