A few years ago I would have said German Shepherd, now I've been led astray by these Blue heeler types, and oh what fun!!

I guess I have 3 favourite breeds having owned all of them, ACD, GSD and Dalmatian probably in that order.

mirasmom, you act like your dogs are way above the other gsd,why? just don't say because i breed them. i breed also as does several other people on this forum. if you believe your dogs are better than mine or others on here,SPIT IT OUT!!!

I have a beagle and I really like that breed also.
Annette, what are beaucerons like? They are a herding breed also right?
James when I say that about Pits people think I am crazy. Me and my brother were talking about our prev. pit. I dont know if I get another. I dont care for the way most people are breeding them these days. Way to big not true pits in my opionion.

mine has to be the german shepherd,well mannered dogs great bond with there masters and love to be told wat to do,next to that would be the alaskan malamute love there coats and the strenght ,but not the smartest dogs

Large Dogs --

#1 -- German Shepherd, of course. No other dog looks as Majestic as the German Shepherd. I love their intelligence and oh, those eyes -- their eyes "say" I KNOW / I UNDERSTAND.

#2 Siberian Husky
#3 Malamute

Small Dogs --

#1 Poodle (toy)
#2 Yorkie

Border Collie, easily! So dang smart. And beautiful. And perfect (okay, I'm a little biased). Next would probably be German Shepherd Dogs, but only working line, cause they are smart and loyal, and awesome. Then Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. I'm not 100% sure why I like them, but I do. And after that, a tie between Papillons (because they are extrememly cute, and smart) and Caucasian Mountain Dogs (because they look so fluffy and sweet, but aren't), and then maybe Beaucerons. I like too many breeds, lol. I love smart dogs, though. If its smart, I'll probably like it. :D
I like this thread, but I wish more people with 'interesting' breeds would get on here, lol. :)

Mine is Am Staffs, or APBT, then German Shepherd, then Flat Coat Retriever.

My Am Staffs are the most tolerant, forgiving, and goofy loyal companions that I have ever owned! They are perfect with my children, and the guests in my home.. GSD, for protection, and sports, and Flat Coat Retriever for the Water Sports, and family pet.
