I will give $1000 to anyone with a pure american line shepherd that I can't run off the protection field. American line dogs are not german shepherds. The german shepherd is a working dog.

....and if that dog were stretched any further, you'd be cleaning grass stains off of his little American dinky. Can he run?? I'd pay the $1000 just to sit with some popcorn and watch that event. Does he even chase a ball? ,,,,,or do you just run and pick it up and throw it again??

Hello gsd101. I raise 3 daughters to be very successful in life. Now, I spend much time with my 10 yo granddaughter to hopefully insure that she is also successful.
Again, I ask you, what do you wish to learn here.
ole grand dad,

I have a Malinois male that is only 10 months old and he is VERY Protective. He bites the leather decently. Is a malinois generally More protective then a German Shepherd Dog ??? I find that Max is very protective of me. When my brother gets anywhere near me , Max goes absolutely berserk....When he leaves , Max calms down. Does anyone have any thoughts on this ?? When I am playing with him , he is an absolute baby...His energy level is way beyond that of a gsd...

Love My Canine, that's a fool's bet. Anyone who knows anything about protection dogs knows how easy it is to defeat one if there is time. This includes Mals, Dobes, GSDs of all lines, Pits, Rottties, etc. All one has to do to defeat a PPD if the owner is foolish enough to send him is present a sleeve or covered arm and then clobber or stab the dog while on the sleeve. Any dog will pull off under those circumstances. The dog is to scare away potential problems or give time to get a .357. Same for police dogs and the easy way to defeat them.

My former partner is a nut, he used to demo a technique where he would stop "any" dog with no protective equipment. I did several seminars with him where we worked on teaching service people (gas, electric, postal carriers etc.) how to avoid being bit by aggressive dogs. At one point he had a huge audience in Alabama (I think) to watch him stop some savage AB (I think) who had already bit like 15-18 people. After he sent him home in a box with his owner actually crying, he offered to give the dog a couple of sleeve bites to let him gain back his shattered manhood. If you know dogs,,,no dog is infallible.

This question is like asking that are all Americans good at basketball because Micheal Jordaan is an American.

My grandma's poodle peggy was a nasty bitch; but all you had to do is kick her and she backed off... I had to fight her off with a broom some times. She was the best PPD she bit anybody, anything and nobody went through her... LOL
No training just a plain bitch. I hated that dog. My father told me that if she was any stronger he would have shot her she was so unstable! Good thing she was only 15 pound right?

the first gsd to earn a ASCA herding title on cattle was an american showline bitch sired by CovyTuckerHills Mazerati. she worked daily on a dairy farm.
just because these dogs do not work in schutzhund does not mean they can not, and do not work at all.
