Phil Behun

by Phil Behun on 13 October 2010 - 16:10

First off, it's spelled whacked, secondly it wasn't a "one time club trial"  it was a "helper certification" attended by and overseen by prominent members of the "PSA" community.  I saw no less than 12 helpers/decoys, and probably more, NOT JUST ONE.  Where I come from repetitive behavior denotes a pattern.  If you yourself are so enamored with the training, why do you care what I think?  Who do you train for me or yourself?  If you train for yourself,,,,,why care what anyone else has to say?  Personally I care about dogs because that's what I do.  I care about working dogs because that's what I do.  Do I care about AKC obedience??  Not really, but if I have a client interested in competing, I will help them.  Do I care about PSA??  Not really, but if I had a client interested in competing, I'd send them somewhere else.

Phil, first off, the His silent. Secondly, I could care less about PSA. I just don't understand how one can base a solid opinion on one experience. I have read poster's comments on SchH from one experience at a garbage club and that is not fair. You and I both know that there are SchH clubs that we wouldn't train with. You can have an opinion and speak freely. That is fine, but I wouldn't want someone to base SchH on the Helper Seminar they had up in Michigan with a DVG club.

Phil, I think it's cute you think I give a rats booty, what YOU think. If I were to come here pissig all over Schutzhund, I can guarantee, you and many other would be up in my grill. I'm no longer worried your tale will sway anyone from going to experience it for themselves. I think you have made it clear, you are biased beyond any reason.

I pointed out your experience was a decoy cert, that is what is so laughable. You havn't even seen a single trial and ready to crucify the sport and all involved. I have been to club after club of Sch and found 1 that doesn't make me want to slit my wrists, for all the shit talking and backstabbing to members, as they smile at eachothers face, voting them out the next month.

Does that leave a bitter taste in my mouth? Sure, yet I wouldn't refuse puppy buyers if I was a breeder, to participate. Funny AKC is OK but PSA is a no go. Real open mind ya got there.

I think any sport in it,s infancy is going to have issues, all we can hope is that it was a 1 time issue and has resolved it,s self.
I,ll go over and see for my self this weekend and make a opinion then.

Kinda reminds me of  the old adage " Those that do do, those that don,t teach"

Laurel, we have been through this before.  How many dogs have you stood in front of?  Do you really recognize safe work?  Do you know the difference between safe and unsafe work?  Do you know the differences between SchH, IPO, FR, NVBK, and KNPV?  Or is it more about because you want to do it that makes it right?  I don't wish to insult you so in the future, please do not answer my posts regarding training and in turn, I promise to never respond to any subject thoughts you may have.

Hi Laurel, I believe you do know the difference between safe and unsafe work.  How are your dogs doing,  I am so enjoying tracking in the mornings, life is good here. Take care, I miss you  HUGS and more HUGS.
Always,
Cee

Phil, just wondering about your sales contract. What does it say about selling a dog to p.d. for k9 work?

Bob, you are right go see it yourself, i think you will enjoy it.

...not to worry Phil.. there are other places to discuss PSA where one of the first few posts won't be you slamming the sport. You certainly are entitled to your opinion about PSA but that's what it is... an opinion and by now I would guess most of the people who read your posts are aware of that fact and what it's based on. I never said or even insinuated that I know as much as you in the dog sport world, I was making an observation. I have been to approximately 20 PSA events and have never witnessed a dog being injured. Again.... just my observation.

To everyone else.. there's lots of chatter on the PSA board about the nationals and ideas or possible changes in level three. There will be a directors meeting to discuss these possible changes this weekend I understand so check it out if you're interested.
