Pharaoh

by Pharaoh on 28 September 2010 - 01:09

Jyl,

The TOTW lamb formula looks good.  The only thing I don't like is the canola oil.  The Wetlands formula has no vegetable oil in it.  I give it to Pharaoh about 3 times a week.  I think I will pick up a small package of the Sierra Mountain lamb formula and see how it goes.

I think the dried beet pulp and all the grain makes big poops.  That would be very upsetting for me because I am used to raw fed turds that are small and not smelly and turn into white bone powder.

I saw no difference in poop between TOTW and 4Health. That's for 6 gsds

Would never feed any food with menadione.  iT IS A CHEMICAL.....NOT A REAL VITAMIN...MADE IN A LAB....

NOT NEEDED AT ALL.

PURINA MAKES ALL OF SAMS FOODS ALSO...

NESTLES OWNS PURINA AND THEY DO NOT TELL YOU UNLESS YOU CALL THE   1800 NUMBER AND ASK WHAT COMPANY YOU ARE TALKING TO......

TRY IT...WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME IF IT IS NOT    PURINA......!!!!

DIAMOND MAKES OTHERS TOO  ....DIAMOND ALSO MAKES MOST OF THE FOODS THAT TRACTOR SUPPLY HAS IN STOCK....

i DID  a little checking on the name     4Health     and then there is     4 Health

There are two different  dog companies and two dog foods with almost same name...one has a space between the 4  and the word Health...

First one is the TSC  dog food made by  Diamond Pet Foods...

the second one with the space between 4 and Health is a private company  made for a special dog who had cancer and they started producing it in mass..,  See the website listed in the brief statement below.:

4Health - Tractor Supply - http://www.tractorsupply.com/content...events/4health
not to be confused with

4 Health - http://4healthdogfood.tripod.com/id2.htm

http://4healthdogfood.tripod.com/id1.html    this  is owned by  pj and John Christen    not the TSC  dog food..

alaman your 6 GSDs had no difference? ........  Some will, some won't have a difference.  You have to consider, four of the 5 dogs I have are Huskies, , who have extremely sensitive stomachs to begin with.

Jyl, what is the Diamond Naturals? What does the bag look like? How much is it and how many lbs?  I never go on the side with Diamond and Eukanuba and all of the other brands.   I won't have to pick up food for another two weeks, but I may check into that when I do.  All I can say is that I'm amazed at how some dogs do well on Purina, Alpo, Ol Roy,  Pedigree and other foods.  My dogs would all be dead on that garbage.  I remember when I first got them, I tried Maxximum Nutrition......threw up every single day, twice a day......tried a similar food, they had red skin from corn allergies, tried another food, nasty runny stools and dull coats......And then the guy tells me about TOTW, I don't know it may have been when it first came to our store.  I thought I'd give it a try, and they did great on it.  Having Huskies, they can't handle grains or corn very well.

The Diamond Naturals comes in a 40 pound bag. The chicken and rice is $27.99 and the lamb and rice is $29.99. The ingredience are very similar to the 4Health. The one thing that I like better about the Diamond Naturals is that the calories are a little higher. My 2 females seem to maintain weight better on the Diamond Naturals than they are on the 4Health.

I am with you, I think my dogs would drop dead if I gave them something like Pedigree or Alpo...YUCK!!!!

I like the TOTW. I am going to be putting my male on the Sierra Lamb one. This is the new one that just came out. My male cant eat anything with chicken in it.

Did you look at the Diamond Naturals? Are you still feeding the 4Health or did you go back to TOTW?

I'm doing Diamond Naturals now.  The two that are eating the Diamond chicken seem to be doing better on Diamond than on 4health Chicken.  And the others are on Lamb from Diamond and they seem to be doing well on it.  One of my dogs is still on TOTW and I'm not sure if I'll switch her to something else or not.

I noticed with the Diamond Naturals that I am able to feed alot less than with the 4Health. I had to almost double the amount of 4Health. My females really lost weight on it. They are gaining it back on the Diamond Naturals. Their coats didnt change at all, so that was good.
