BE, I think you're right. And I know from my cowboy ex that the meat dogfood manufacturers use is also garbage. Another friend of mine who has a processing plant sells rotten meat to dog food manufacturers in Los Angeles (where dead pet slurry is also sprayed onto the kibbles). There's no real reason to think anything in those products is GOOD...except that the label claims it is "top ingredients." Oh yeah, I'm going to believe that. Suffice it to say that the processor's own dogs eat raw free-range animals.
By the way, the big meat growers sell cancerous cows and meat-fed pigs to fast food restaurants, too (yeah, illegal, but....). MMMMMM. Now you know one reason I don't eat meat at all. Even if it IS raised "properly," how do you know that the food the animals ate was decent?

JusticeForAll,
I buy frozen raw sardines and keep them in my freezer and for their morning feed, all I do is defrost them, wash some scales off and chop them up into chunks then mixes in some can sardine/ mackerel/ tuna just for flavour. Well, this was how I started them off enjoying their fish. I also give them Omega 3 Fish Oil two/ three times a week. Be careful with talapia or similar fish with long and hardier bones. Some dogs swallow instead of chomping their catch. Personally I would not take the risk if I can help it. Do not know about others when they feed their raw fish whole to their dogs.

Well I started feeding raw last night and again this am and it went great. My older girl 9 ate like a pro and even kept it in her bowl which amazed me and my 6 year old was a bit more apprehensive and wanted to take it somewhere else especially when she got down to the pork chop bone but this morning I helped her so she could pull the meat off the chicken thigh and she did fine. My girls are very good about not eating out of the wrong bowl but with raw I might have a bit more of an issue as my 9 year old when finished would love to have more. lol Now I have to search today and find out about ACV,yogurt, eggs, and such to see how often I need to feed those other items but I am impressed thus far. About 2-3 hours after they ate when we went to bed one of them seemed a bit restless and about 20 min. later the other one started. I though maybe they were having an issue digesting because neither had to go potty but they layed down and all was good so I am not sure what that was about.
