I find the big name/big money breeders are only about just that- money, and name. The showline breeders who hold their dogs to high standards mentally are going to be the small timers like me. Those of us who will take a stronger working middle V with a straighter topline over a heavily angulated, weak biting VA dog will never be at the "top" ... but that's ok with me. The top is a dirty place to be from what I've seen.
I am VERY hard on showlines, physically and mentally, because in my many, many experiences with showline dogs I wholeheartedly believe they are truly capable of so much more than most owners/breeders/trainers ever ask them to do. I have been searching for a puppy for myself for nearly two years because what I am looking for just hasn't come along yet.
I would also speak to Silbersee, crhuerta, KennelvonLotta, JudyK...all great breeders with the whole dog in mind who are board members here.

Why are you willing to spend that amount of money when you can spend less than 2000 USA on a TOP and i mean TOP working line 8 week old Puppy, and that will include Freight from Europe to the Airport near you, in this case Belgium
I really do not understand how some of you Guys put up with stupid prices in your own counrtry
and in case anyone is thinking where will i buy a Pup bred from ScH3 certainly one side for many generations and probably Sch3 or 2 on the other side Parent and Generations of Sch 3 dogs in the pedigree, Plus the Hips and Elbows Certified Breeding, KKL1 or KKL2 korclassed, DNA etc Yet some still want to pay more in there own country
It is simply beyond thinking about
Now if you can buy a similar bred Pup in the USA at a Price i have said above with those Qualifications of the Two Parents, Then deduct the cost of travelling to the Airport in this case Frankfurt from Belgium a days travel plus the Freight fees from the say 2,000 USA dollars, that will bring the price down at least to about 1200 USA dollars for the Puppy
Now if you can get the Pup for that as well bred as above with thoose qualifications then ignore my post completly
and the Pup below is something like you would Buy at the Price i say and that i guranatee myself

if you are looking for a black and red showline male, there are lots of reputable breeders out there. The problem is that people tend to fall for flashy ads and fancy websites.
Depending on where you are located, I would recommend Michele at Alpenhof Kennels just north of the border in Ontario (she had a litter with XBox and her beautiful Kirschental female), Judy Kavanaugh who also had a recent litter, Robin and Carlos at Huerta Kennels, Andrew Masia at Jagenstadt Kennels in Florida had a recent litter, Cynthia MacMahan in North Carolina, Randy Brent in Northern Virginia, Mary Dygert in Oregon. I am sure I am forgetting a lot of great people and breeder friends I had the pleasure of meeting over the past 20 years. Sorry guys! It is unintentional!
As for myself (thanks Kelley for mentioning me): I have not had much luck with showline breedings lately. My recent litter is wonderful (I am very partial lol) but these puppies are out of working and Czech lines. If I finally have some good news, I will have a litter born in about 7 weeks out of our homebred black and deep deep red girl V-Mona vom Silbersee, SchH1 KKL1a normal ED normal and V-1 Nike vom Haus Dexel, SchH3 KKL1a (SG-10 at the 2008 German Sieger Show - son of VA-2 Odin Holtkaemper Hof and VA-1 Gina vom Aquamarin) but I will hold my breath until the puppies are actually born. Mona is still in Germany under the watchful eyes of our friends. She had a persistent open pyometra last summer and fall which she acquired at the first breeding attempt, according to the vets in Germany. But we are hopeful that we overcame that with lots of antibiotics, repeated cultures and flushings. She is now being monitored closely. Let's hope for the best.
If you need contact info for any of the people I mentioned and can't find it on the net, send me an email or a pm.

Thanks Kelly for mentioning us too......that was very nice!
We too are "holding our breath"......we have a new female coming in from Germany out of Ghandi, bred to Yukon.......fingers crossed!!
We recently lost our beautiful Chulla von Huerta Hof, just 7 weeks after arriving home from Germany.....needless to say....the breeding to Ilbo did not produce puppies.
Best wishes to Kelly also on her quest..........if we can help....you know we will!
Sincerely,
Robin

First let me say thank you for selecting Yacco as your stud choice. I hope your Boudica works out well for you. Maybe someday you will consider me worthy of one of your pups.
People.... Kelly is a person that has her heart in the right place. If you are looking call her I'm sure she can help or she will send you in the correct direction. On my list she is on the top.
