Thanks for all the answers I've gotten so far.  It always seems impossible for these not to stray to almost a whole new thread hahaha. But do you think you can give me kennel names or breeders. thanks

Pharaoh

Since Don Simon had someone import David Nebeloz for him, were you that person.

I have corresponded with Don Simon and after he died, his wife.  They were so kind as to send me pictures of David.

David was certainly a great big old style dog.  And there is a secret......pm me.

What other dogs still have their blood lines continued?  Don't be coy.

Here is my dog Pharaoh's pedigree, you will see in his 8 generation pedigree, all the familiar names:

Pharaoh is a cousin to almost every DDR dog here.

Don wasa big dog very nice looking. He was known for bringing structure and hips. He had well over 90 % of his prodigy get  A normal while he was in DDR. Was not considered a great working dog but not bad as well. Delaware State Police use to have a big super strong male Tiger V Schmitergrenzie (Spelling )  that was one hell of a dog I am sure he is long gone that was in 1990 he was a 3old thenand was used  ofr breeding in the DDR as well as by Delaware .

I have to laugh on here people saying oh they mature late or they didn't have prey drive. BS. I had DDR dogs back then as did many people here that could compare to Malinois  in drives. They also matured no differently than others. I think maybe now due to the limited gene pool there may be issues. One thing I learned from Wolfgang was that those old DR breeders knew which lines to breed and cross with and what not to do. Sure everyone liked the huge heads and bone but the grips oh the grips those suckers would bite so damn hard and so full like Belgium ring dogs. Talk to someone who had some of these great dogs back in the EARLY 90s. I promise you they where balanced dogs with tons of fight drive and enough prey drive that at times you thought you had a malinois on the end of the lead.

"was aloof as heell with strangers , stable in publice just ignored the world but GOD help anyone who tried to touch his family or come on his property"

The point I was trying to make exactly! I understand that most dogs now carry only peices of what once was a pure line. But what I was saying is that the drive and stability is there and the amount of loyalty to their family that I know came from teh DDR cross. Yes, I know everyone is going to slam me here and say any dog will defend his family. I for one do not believe that, and this is only my opinion. I am speaking from what I have seen with my dogs (yes they are crosses and not pure DDR) but I have also had other lines (not DDR) that do not show the loyalty and devotion to the children that these crosses do. I beleive the poster was asking for our opinions on the cross and for more info on breeders. That is why I posted my website so they could get more info. Yes, my dogs hold AKC titles and that does not measure up to many of you. But they have titles, they have been out in the world, they have been raised with small children and they have been in positions where they have had to protect those children. And so I thank them every day for their loyalty and devotion. I for one love the cross and will continue to look for those certian bloodlines becuase I belive they do make the perfect companion, have good working skillls and can maintain a stable temperment in public. By the way Moons, I was making no pitch, I was simply stating what I HAD bred and that I liked it........

Also Pharoah, love your dog, great lines!
