the shape of the sockets, the heads and necks probably wouldn't change between this age and age two. as prager pointed out, a pup shows more cartillage and laxity so its difficult to make any hard and fast calls. i like the necks and heads of the first dog better than the younger. refer to the excellent example that louise gave us.

Your Honor, I submit these prelims into evidence, let's call them Exhibit "Ex".

louise, are you still watching this thread? i was wondering if you were the one holding your dogs in the films above? if so, could you please share with us the technique you use? i thought it might help us to better understand correct positioning. i shudder to think of the number of dogs that may have been neutered or euthanized based on xrays taken by incompetant vets when the xrays were never submitted. the owners never knew otherwise and took the vet's word as gospel. thanks

People do not accept inferior x rays negatives from your vet!!! Educate yourself how good quality, properly exposed and developed film should look like. Also proper positioning is superbly important. All this can make difference between OFA Displastic and OFA good!
Here you can look at properly and improperly taken, positioned , exposed and developed x ray:

Update: I had the x-rays redone with better positioning and they passed.
