....continued...

mate them, your chances of getting puppies that can do all that like their parents are far greater then 2 puppies from 2 stupid kennel dogs that never did anything but shit, pee, eat and trot in a circle with one faggot holding the leash and another faggot screaming behind the fence with a Barbie doll - here boy, look at me... and other faggots are oohing and aaahiing behind the fence. Oh my look at the gait. Oh my look at the "expression"... Lol, expression. Oh, lovely croup... Wow, such great head./// What's in the head and is head matter being used - they don't care... And al that for a fucking ribbon... Then, they go home and kennel the dog or the dog sprawls on the couch and watches TV.

Now, why don't they do more with those dogs? Well... most of them can't do more. For example. If your dog does NOT want to chase a ball, or if your dog is NOT motivated by food to do something... What do you have left if you want him to do a specific task? You have force as the last resort.

I can't type no more, this subject can take a book.

Adi Ibrahimbegovic ,

Thanks again for all your advice help and information as well as the entertaining stories. Yes I believe you could write a book and for me that is great! I have received alot of really good information from you and intend to use it. Thanks again for all the help. As far as the dvd's I was simply wanting something that was a little more geared towards a young pup through the first year or so of its life and think that they all are geared very little towards that area but I of course could be wrong.

In a nutshell I simply want books/etc on whatever can help me with the pup but as far as that goes I believe you have given me plenty to get started with (for now) . However if there is any other material that may help I am all ears! In the meantime I will visit the local clubs as well as read up a storm and digest all I can and follow your advice with the puppy training and do my best to keep it light and fun and consistent which is my intention.

The books I have ordered I should receive in the next couple days or so and am anxious to read them. Since I work for myself and out of my home I will have more than enough time with the pup and understand the time involved and look forward to it very much.

Anyway thanks again and I will keep you updated as time moves forward as far as the puppy's progress. By the way I was finally able to locate a few tracking sessions and watched them. I was interested to see the requirements actually fulfilled on the field so that was my major interest there. I also researched some scores (traacking in WUSV etc type events) and see what you mean when you say it can be the difference of several placings. I also watched several videos of different dogs to see if I could see where and why points were taken away and I must say it was rather difficult but after several viewings you could see some very minor differences (I think anyway..lol...) Anyway it's fun and interesting and again I appreciate all your help!

Take care,

Joseph

You're welcome.

You are probably going to enjoy tracking much more than I do.

Here is an article for you to read and see a real dogman's life story: http://www.ddrlegends.com/manfredvisit.html

Towards the bottom of the page you'll see how Max Von Stephanitz, the founder and the man that singlehandedly "made" the German Shepherd dog tests his future champion (Sieger) for courage.

Who is Aceofnike breeding to, who's the mother of the pup?

Umm... yes, here is the dog in question from the article, right here from the PDB:
http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/2007.html#

ahem... anybody see any difference between the real deal from 1931 and this fella, for example:

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/389137.html#

Could be any of these ballet dancers VA1 dogs of today, I just choose BSZS 1931 and 2007 winners...

Hello again,

Not sure if I'll like tracking more (seems like obedience and protection will be alot of fun) but I definetly understand its importance now! The AceofNike X Gora litter pedigree is listed on the link below:

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/para.utkoma?fadir=469966&modir=620716

I will be getting a sable male. They were born 9/16/09.

Anyway I received my two books yesterday and am reading those and so far they seem to be exactly what I was looking for. It is really interesting because many of the training items they cover are relevant to videos I have already seen thus making it a bit simpler to understand and visualize.

Thanks again for the additional information. As usual it's certainly appreciated. BTW when a dog receives scores listed as A- 95 B-92-C-90 does this translate to A= Tracking score B= Obedience score and C= Protection score? And is that true in every scenario regardless?

Respectfully,

Joseph

Alright, one more comment, then I'll have to go work and will be away for a little while.

Pedigree looks great, a world class breeding with a mix of a lot of great dogs. Your puppy mother is a grand daughter of Troll From haus Milinda. He was a great, no, GREAT dog, sadly he passed away recently.

If possible or if youw ant, let the breeder chose the puppy for you and tell him/her (if possible, of course) you want the best Schutzhund prospect from the litter with stable temperament.

"BTW when a dog receives scores listed as A- 95 B-92-C-90 does this translate to A= Tracking score B= Obedience score and C= Protection score? And is that true in every scenario regardless?" --- Yes, it's always like that, A tracking, B obed and C protection.

Then, depending on the numbers achieved, the dog can be V (stands for "excellent" in German) if he has I don't remember exactly like 295 total, I think, or SC, whihc is German for "Sehr Gut" or Very good, if it has from 270... is it 270? I honestly don't remember it anymore, then it's G for "gut", then it's B, -satisfactory and M - not passed, or not enough. Like the dog did not out, or it got 69 on obedience etc...

Also, a lot of people teach their dogs German language commands. I don't speculate as to 'why", maybe they want to be "wordly", or they think this or that. I think it's a throwback to the past times when a lot of people bought a Sch3 titled dog already from Europe, well, they still do... So, it's easier for a person to learn 10-15 german words than for the dog to learn a whole new set of instructions.

I teach my commands in English to my dog. We live in US of A, the language here is English and I fell that's what he should be taught, no opinion on people that do it differently, I do it this way, they can do whatever they want:
So, their Platz is my down
Their Fuss is my Heel
Their Sitz is my sit
They Gib Laut is my Bark
Their Revier is my Go Search
They Voraus is my Guard
Their BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRing is my Bring (without their yakking, yammering and yoddeling on the R letter like so many people do, the dog brings it fine...) and so on...

People can choose to teach their dog to do Chinese language commands, or Russian if they want, my opinion is I am in USA, it's a US bred GSD and we speak English here. I could teach him my native tongue - Bosnian or Chezch commands, it doesn't matter, but that's stupid - it's USA here, we both live here and it's English, period. It doesn't mean "my" way it somehow better than "theirs" or vice versa, dogs don't give 2 flips about languages to them it's just the sound anyway, just a personal preference.

Also, I don't shout commands at my dog, his hearing is just fine. However, there are a few instances that the commands should be said lauder and in a crisp, no nonsense voice, like you WILL do this! not, umm, do this... please?

Also, in a Sch trial it is a fault to mix languages with your dog, you can't say Platz here and Heel there, pick one and be consistent, or it's a fault, Judge Frank Philipps pointed that to me (I didn't know it at the time).

Anyway, you seem to be ont he right track
