Still overweight and i bet the coat is dry, snow or not the coat is dull no shine or condition otherwise the wet would not be acting like a sponge, as for criticism i hate to see animals overweight, and this one is for sure, but what i think is overweight is normal for many of you folk i guess i live in a land where people and pets are slimmer
To me it is a cardinal sin in keeping any animal overweight, But as you say in the future best to keep my mouth shut

One of the strangest and most disturbing this I heard regarding "huge" German shepherds was having a mother and son come up to my dog and me. The mother must have easily weighed 500 pounds. She could barely walk. Her son, I'd guess no older than thirteen, was probably close to 400 pounds. They claimed their German shepherd puppy was 6 months old and weighed 90 pounds... See a pattern here?
I have had people remark that my dog is the "biggest" German shepherd they have ever seen when, oddly enough, he weighs no more than 85 pounds.
or I will have people remark "my dog looks JUST LIKE YOURS!" (HIGHLY UNLIKELY!) but HE'S BIGGER! (130 - 160 pounds.)
A local pet store was selling "imported" (from Kentucky) working line GSD puppies for about $2400, telling people the sire was an 140-pound champion German police dog. Yeah. Right.
I will never understand people who think a huge dog is better than one of correct size, barring all else. If you want a HUGE dog, get a Newfie! If you want a big headed, short-nosed dog, get a mastiff. Sure, miniature horses are cute but if you want a one the size of a Shire, maybe you should JUST GET A SHIRE!
And what is with these "Olde World" German Shepherds? What Olde World are they talking about? It certainly isn't Germany - maybe Narnia...
Now I can skip my psychotherapy appointment as I have done my weekly venting!

A trip through the wardrobe, LOL in search of the prehistoric forerunner of the modern GSD!
Germanasaurus Rex, fearsome carnivore of the Jurassic period, aka Olde Worlde Shepherds. Is that the one? I saw a documentary once, I swear! Passionate Reproductions was the producer, just can't remember the what they called it.

MaggieMae,
I hear tis all day long in the ghetto where I work. Big dog blah blah. We get stopped all the time asking why our 70 lb female is so small. Then we occasionally get the opposite end where people tell us our GSD is huge. Some people are just ignorant.
SitasMom,
Bravo. :)
TessJ10,
It seems you just want an excuse to start a battle. I didn't really see any controversial topics there ... Bil-Jac is crap. Oversized dogs develop countless health problems. Backyard breeders fill up the shelters where I volunteer and where I see countless good dogs put to sleep. Perhaps you don't like SitasMom and/or perhaps you don't agree with her etiquette, but what she said is true nonetheless.
