Moons, glad to hear she's feeling a little better, maybe all will be well by morning.Just happened to think about the snake incident you had a while back, you didn't put out moth balls by any chance did you?

She acts like she feels much better, even playing, barking.
But we just went out for the midnite walk and she passed what looks like red paint, the color of a brick.
No on the Moth balls.
I'm in the dark now, dunno what to think.
I'm done till morning.

You should have flagyll , metrodiaznole on hand and get one 250mg in her to stop the diahrea...sounds like she ate something that has her bleeding along the tract....important to keep fuids in her. and get the diahrea stopped  .... sluffing the intestional wall is what happens when the irtem caused the fluids to leave the the ruffage,,being anything other than puppy food , will take parts of the intestional wall with the blood right out the body.....

Keep a antibiotic like FLAGYLL FOR  diahrea and it stops the infection from doing the damage tiill you  get to the vet...flagyll will not hurt dog unless it is a  PREGNANT FEMALE>

any antidiahrea like Immodium for pup is good also..I do not use Pepto or keopectate...
Pectrin is good.  buy it at Petsmart for puppies ...

Nothing more I can add I know you already have or will be seeing the vet today, let us know .Its real encouraging that she was playing and barking, unless in very early stage it rules out anything really serious for me. I don't do a lot of self medicating at times like these, some things can do more harm then good if you don't know what your dealing with. Not that it applies to your pup,but when your bored, google [tamiflu for treatment in dogs with parvo. Its something new, thats being tested by some,it seems to work, and sounds like it might be feasible for home treatment.Just something you might find interesting.  Mike

How about an update?

by malshep on 13 September 2009 - 00:09

Hi Moons, I hope your puppy is doing better, you said you put mice poison down, remember that after the mice eat it they run for water-    maybe the water in the dogs kennel. There was a dog maybe two years ago come in that had eaten a dead at in the barn, he was sick from that. This is just an after thought.
Always,
Cee

Isabelle checked out ok,
Probably ate something she shouldn't have, blood work and tests of the specimen I provided showed nothing.
Vet said stress could have played a role also.   But NO Parvo.... and she got the rest of her shots.
This mornings stool started out with a tiny bit of blood in it, but the major portion was clear and normal.
She's been tear assing around today like nothing happened.
I've never heard stress could cause the passing of blood but the vet said it happens.
He also gave her pills to sooth her upset stomach, she just ate and had a hearty appetite.
I'm very relieved, and getting ready to self medicate for my stress now..........:)

I did read about the Parvaid and the Tamiflu,
Thanks everyone.

So glad to  hear the gal's okay... have been thinking of you both.

We'll be getting Ikon his 3rd set of Distemper/parvo vacs this week, then a week or so after that will do Rabies and the 1st Lyme.  We do have lots of ticks here and tis the season so it's a wise move.   We can't believe how fast he's growing.   I suspect he's topped 40 lbs, though is far from chubby.  Just a wild man who's earned the nic-name of CYCLONE.  When he's wound up nothing is safe... LOL but he's a baby.   I'm starting to look for someone to work with me in Tracking and Obedience.  We're going to just do tug toy/ flirt pole kind of things as far as the bite work for now.  He's got a grip that would make a pitbull proud... LOL and NOTHING stops him what so ever.  Had him down to the River with our older bitch swimming in the river, and he leaped in over his head with no hesitation.

Post some pics of your kid when you can they're the same age so interesting to compare.
