Hey, all I stopped reading bc the whole ordeal is passed
You have got to be kidding me!!!!
You come on here mere hours ago, totaly trash a reputable, skilled and well-liked trainer, and then say 'I stopped reading bc the whole ordeal has passed'? WTF!!! You just posted the first message this morning! I'm sorry, Windy, but you sound like a loon.
And the word on the street is that Hanz is a sweet but difficult-to-train dog because of his lack of drive. The rumor is that Jeff was making good, albeit slow, progress with him and was looking forward to completing his titling, per your request. Most would even say that he genuinely liked your dog and enjoyed having him around, even though Hanz lacks some essential personality traits which make training more pleasant and fruitful.
Many would see the situation this way: the guy takes on a soft showline male, loans you a decent dog in the meantime (which, btw, was fully vaccinated), takes the time to work with your dog instead of turning to quick, harsh methods. You go to pick up your dog more than a month early but by the time you get there, you are tipping your hand, making strange, off-the-wall allegations. The guy feels the need to write up a release form, so that another 'Amelia' doesn't happen. He suggests a public place for you to meet, has a bank representative lined up to witness the transaction, explains the situation to the police officer, and is fully prepared to return your dog to you, as per your request. You refuse to sign the release, saying that he may have poisoned the dog (who he has just spent the last 3+ months caring for...How long did you have Hanz before you sent him away? Oh, I forgot...he's a 'member of the family'.) The guy accompanies you to the nearest PetPlace VetPlace, waits while you decide what to do, makes ammendments to the release in order to please you.
To the newbies reading this: you should be so lucky as to find a trainer this patient.

Google and Bing are marvelous things. Trainers can google you, just as easily as you google them. And, as stated before, schutzhund is a SMALL community. Windy Pool has made herself known by this thread, as well as others.
Learn the lesson better than Windy Poole did.
Sandy,
It is astonishing, isn't it? You have to wonder what the point was. ...and she is not even in Pennsylvania!

I'm not in the sport any longer but when I was, I was in his club and he worked with me and all my pups and dogs. Jeff would never stear anyone wrong.
He had the patience and kindness in him to work my difficult Mal who just wanted to eat people and everything else that came his way. And Jeff was wonderful with him!
I don't think anyone is buyintg into this person and her story. It does sound kind of hooky to me. She's just mad and now she's trying to discredit him well, it ain't gonna work lady.
And yeah, if there are great "professional" trainers in Texas - why on earth did you drive to NC???? That alone didn't make sense.

Sandy: I have a showline male, who is soft and is a big baby..he is beautiful...I bought him because he is a Timo de la Serena grand boy...but he is not my kind of dog..I love him ,,he is a goof ball and everyone loves his look..he is as useless as tits of a boar hog.. but he has great temperament.., when not in a threatning situation..had great pigment..good angulation as not severe, but just a big hunk of gsd...he killed a cat...ha ha ha...one came on property...he has high breed scent...when a female is in heat he will knock the barn door off its hinges...lol Workability?????? NO nada

I would not waste 2 minutes trying to put any kind of title on him......His hips ok good...so all is kosher...

YR Agreed with your post....thanks.

Sometimes, when you know someone, you are biased and don't see the whole truth either. People are totally different when it involves money than when in a friendship, that I have learned the hard way.
If she is making this drama up, she sure is persistent. She has now posted the same story in the classifieds....

Don't know either party, but why if you were threatened in a public place like a Petsmart would you not call the police ? those places have cameras everywhere for shoplifters. OP already had the police involved? I think there is some missing info here.
