ShelleyR

by ShelleyR on 10 August 2009 - 18:08

I named the Lady in the Box "Buffy". It seemed an appropriate name for the following reasons:
  • She is obviously blonde, often even more lost than I am
  • She changes her mind a lot, often several times a minute
  • Sometimes she forgets where we are going altogether
  • She was the last gift my husband ever bought me, Christmas before last. He probably has a younger model "Buffy" on the seat next to him as I write this. She doesn't know where she is either, but I'll bet she came with a lot of to-o-tally AWEsome CD's for the cassette player in his car. No foundation garments, no books, no brains... but  really cool CD's.
Poor Buffy.

Pharaoh

by Pharaoh on 10 August 2009 - 20:08

That's a good thought Shelley.  A new "honey" will keep his thoughts on something other than you.

A new life and new direction are something that I am lookin forward to.  I just got a tetanus shot.  I have been loading my "stuff" into PODS and the damn POD frame stabbed me in the back of my hand.

Soon the stagers will come and turn my house into yuppie heaven or Palacio del Sol LOL!  Hopefully my next stop will be a small crap house with a big yard for puppy boy and no mortgage.  I wonder if my ex will be sniffing around wondering if there should be anything in it for him.

If I find a buyer too quickly, Pharaoh and I will be living in my car with all my "stuff" in storage till I find a new place.  I can't imagine anyone around here renting to us.   It's all good though.

I can't imagine how hard this is for you with several dogs and tight funds.

We have all been in tight situations where we need help.  I intend to send help and I urge others to do the same.

It's called "Pay it Forward", a great movie and concept.  It is good for the soul.

Shelley, Shelley, Shelley...

Buffy doesn't always carry that connotation anymore.  Buffy can be a little,  blond, tough ass-kicker who slays monsters with her bare hands!!
Be Buffy!!

Mobjack,

Your solution works best for me, and I suspect others.  I have had too many issues with Paypal to ever use them again.  I know some love it, but I have reason to be suspicious.   I cannot and will not set foot in a Walmart.  So, I will pm you for a snail-mail addy to send a check.   Uh....who are you, again?

by happyday on 10 August 2009 - 22:08

I am more than willing to help a fellow women in need- but I don't know who  Mobjack is - like Mystere said who are you and why are you helping Shelley out?

Shelley,
I have been using PayPal for my dog adoption fees and have had no problem with them. Why don't you state on here who it is okay to accept funds from, to forward to you....as I stated above, they can donate here and I will forward to you...
Everyone here knows who I am, I think, I believe I have been a big enough Pain In The Butt to most of you breeders...

Happyday,

I have no issue with the "Why" anyone would want to help Shelley.  I just like to know to whom I'd be sending money to be forwarded to Shelley.  Frankly, as Shelley herself knows, part of Mobjack's name is reason to give some of us pause and a desire for identity verification.

Oh dear. Mobjack and Steph are trusted. I have a Pay Pal account, and a P.O. Box from which mail is forwarded to me (eventually) and if you call me I even have a special account number from my bank (B of america) for "deposits only" that has worked fine for training customers and puppy buyers for years now. Its a ONE WAY account number, pretty clever really. You get a receipt at the teller window, money goes straight in.

there is no Bank of America where I am right now, so I am banking by mail, what there is to do, that is.

My deepest gratitude to the nice lady who has already sent me enough for sorely needed bag of dog food via Pay Pal. By the time the supply I have is gone the funds should be in my bank. Never used PayPal before. Western Union works fine too.

I wish my boss hadn't sent my teeny weeny final pay check to WI. LOL  It may be awhile before that makes it to the bank. :-O
Thanks again, all,
SS

Mystere,

You can't possibly hate Walmart anymore than I do.  (I worked there for 7.5 years!)

But nothing would stop me from going there to get some much needed cash in hand for a friend in need.  I am not set up for Paypal and I don't like putting my credit card info over the web.  You fill out a little form and provide some info, hand over your cash and Bingo, you have a reference number and a receipt.  You can email Shelley the info or PM her. (Don't post it here!!!) All the receiver needs to do is stop at ANY Walmart and fill out a form stating the money was received, give that number, show some ID(or answer a test question) and it's cash in hand.  They did ask me what state it was going to but I told them I had no idea and they just shrugged saying it didn't matter.

Come on folks,

If I can scrape it up, so can you.  It will make you feel good!  Get some funds to Shelley and help her get back on her feet.  Show her that we do care and do support her in taking this huge step towards making a life for herself and her dogs!!

Deb
