Nancy - you are so totally clueless.

Grow up and stop the personal attacks.
Have you actually READ the survey questions?

I am far more concerned about the government [thank you GW] ability to tap my phones, figure out what I am reading, and spy on me without any cause than I am about answering a set of demographic questions.

Still blaming Bush, huh.   Well, Obama has taken it even a step further......    Not only that, but Google probably knows more about you than the Government.   You better start paying attention to what Obama is doing !!

Much of the paranoia and hysteria that one sees by some posters is caused by misinformation and outright disinformation. I rarely visit blogs espoused by the fringe groups on either side because often they are the source of the nonsense one sees spewed. Then we have those emails that are sent out en masse containing unsubstantiated information or falsehoods - and all of this feeds the paranoia that is already latent.

I demonstrated on other threads that two of the more nutty assertions made recently were unfounded - the one about requiring Tylenol to be OTC in future and another about a tax on guns and requiring them to be declared on one's tax return (something that even the NRA said is nonsense). I am sure many other assertions will not withstand close scrutiny - but they just get circulated around adding to the frenzy!

Can you imagine living one's life in a state of constant fear of the government, Obama, the UN, foreign armies being located on US soil to be used against citizens, and so on just eating away at one's very fiber?

It reminds me of what Euripedes said: "Those whom the Gods seek to destroy they first make mad."

KTF, you make too much sense.    I wish more people would actually stop and think, but then i guess it's easier to just read and react to nonsense for some.  Thanks for adding a level of sanity often missing here.

KTF - I believe that the Majority of people check out the Sources of a news story or an Email  -- they don't rely on just one Source.   I also believe that your type lives in "la-la land."   You, apparently, live in your own "little bubble" where everything is just fine.  Well, like the saying goes "Ignorance is Bliss."

Ah some calming words from KTF (Can you imagine living one's life in a state of constant fear of the government, Obama, the UN, foreign armies being located on US soil to be used against citizens, and so on just eating away at one's very fiber?)  Yes there were those like you KTF who were  in Germany during the 1930's who always discounted the totalitarian actions of the Nazi party ! One was a catholic priest who wrote about the disbelief and his closing statement was that "when they came for me there was no one left to resist' I assure you ktf that those foreign troops are currently on our soil engaged in training to suppress demonstrations in this country when the federal govt becomes totalitarian! You made the statement that you are not worried about those thing I will quote you out of context  ( I  have infinite faith in the basic decency and common-sense of the average American. I am not worried about my guns being taken away, being taxed to death, foreign troops being used against the citizenry,)
I do believe I posted the link and the text of that law !  I also assure you that man is inherently wicked and the average american is ignorant to these truths because they trust in the so called inherent goodness of our govt!
