Okay.
If that's what you meant by it then I'm happy with that.
You are correct. I did take it personal. I don't post things on a whim and I am certainly not trying to scam anyone.

More importantly, those pups of yours are cute! Very nice looking! Good luck with them!

Thank you.

Red Sable its ok,  there will always be debate over shelters and euthanasia.
The lady who has the website is very vocal on this issue.
www.makingadifferencerescue.com

The same holds true for Right to life and Pro choice, its very personal and people go to extremes trying to have their way.
I guess you saw the news about the doctor who was murdered in church.

I'm not against saving animals when you can, but you can't save them all.   And I don't tell others what they can and can't do with their own lives or their animals.

I do take issue with extremists.    And anyone who profits from the misfortune of others animal or man.

No need to take sides, there are more than two sides here.

I'm satisfied with everyones responses.

Moons.

taking all the issues this poor puppy has into consideration don't you think having this op is just adding to her suffering
its one thing trying to help a puppy but to cause more pain is cruel.
the first thing that springs to mind when i see someone asking for money  is its a scam
I'm not saying it is I'm just careful
what quality of life will she have long term??
if she were mine i would have her PTS. she has been through enough already.
anyway i hope the op is successful and wish you good luck.

Yes, let us be straight on this, it was to Beaugsd that i am replying to and the post put on here by that person
However the people involved with this Pup asking folk from this forum to help out finacally, should pay out from there own pockets, it is as simple as that, The dog is now no better off than when you first had it or knew about it and i stand by what i said in my mails, the kindest thing is to let her go, i think she has been through enough and it isstill on going, Pay up or shut up is what i say, if i felt as strongly as you do about the Pup then one way or the other i would find the 700 dollars to pay the vet but you are not alone it seems so if a club pays out the cost is not so great, instead of putting down us people on this site, get off your rear end and pay for the Pup to be sorted if that is possible or do the kindest thing for it

OGBS,

I certainly don't think you deserved the criticism you got here. I applaud anyone who is willing to help those who don't have a voice, whether it's a child, disabled adult, an elderly person, horse, dog, cat or any other living being that is in need of help.  I am just so so thankful for people who are willng to help like you.  If everyone had a heart like you, this would be a better world. No, you're not perfect and you got ticked off and said some things, but last I looked no one in this world is perfect.

As for the surgery, I know a number of people who have had the same surgery done on their dogs as Maya needs and they had great success. The dogs ended up having a wonderful, active quality of life.

I know I'll probably be slammed for what I have said, but that's ok.  I hope it works out for this little pup who has had such a rough start in life. Thank you for trying to help her.

The puppy may or may not have been better off put down I don't know, but if these vets and surgeons really had a passion for saving animals why then do they need 700 bucks.

One of the most asinine comments ever made.  I suppose the vets should do the work gratis?  As should the staff who work for the vets? The technicians? The receptionist?  And of course, the companies who manufacture the suture material, the surgical tools, the suppliers of the anesthetic gases and the manufacturers of the various pharmaceuticals that will be used in the course of such a surgery--they'll all be donating their wares or services, too, right?  The mortgage company who holds the note on the veterinary hospital should be willing to deduct the portion of the monthly payment that corresponds to the days the charitable event is taking place, right? As should the company that holds the insurance policy on the site.  And the utility companies that supply fuel for heat, cooling, hot water, electrical devices, water and sewer services--they should all pony up their services and supplies for the event, right?

I'm curious as to what you do to earn a living, Two Moons. Aside from the sale of pups from your occasional litters, that is... Do you give your services or merchandise away to those in need?  Do you even do anything that could be useful or helpful to someone, or something, in need?

And no, I'm not a vet, and I don't work for one, not for the past 18 years anyway.  I do still know what it costs to run a veterinary practice, however.

First of all my comment about 'hatred' was not directed at any one  person. But over the years I have seen alot of meaness on this list.
It is a shame someone can't post something to actually help an animal without getting beat up.

As far as digging into our pockets, our club members do. We help the GSD rescues, Save a Vet and may other organizations and animals in need. When they closed a puppy mill in the Chicago suburbs our members collected so much dog food it had to be delivered on the flat bed truck....and this my friend did not come out of the club coffers.

How many times have YOU actually put out the money to help? Oh that's right, let's just put it out of it's misery....much cheaper.
Don't bother responding as I could care less what you have to say.

Hexe,
How the hell are ya?
Hey this is all old news, you should have gotten here earlier.
So you don't think anyone should do anything for free huh?  I agree.
That goes for shelters too hey?

How do I earn a living?
I made my first million as a drug smuggler, then I invested heavily in prostitution.
Now I wack people for really big bucks.   Have gun will travel.  Contact Paladin,  in the van down by the river.

You sure ask the tough questions don't you?

I do what I can for other people, always have.
I could be your best friend if you could return the same,  I can also be someones worst nightmare.
I give or take no more than I receive from most, but give freely to those who really need it.

I'd do the same for any creature.

Moons.

Yes, also i do not give a hoot regards your comments for you whine on and talk but actions are not from you, find the money to sort the Pup out from your own pockets,
Plus answer this question, have you been onto other Dog forums asking for financial help in this case, that question has not yet been bought up Have You
and for the record. every year in the UK i supported Animal and
Bird Charities through the Pigeon Fancy, and by giving the best i could it has helped to bring in over the last30 years over 2 million pounds sterling for Spina Bifida things like that and for Animal shelters etc most of the pigeons i gave freely made more than 200 to 500 pounds at auction each time and that is a lot of money in giving for  at least 45 years of my life every year i gave. and i still am whist living in Belgium. I will help any living creature if i can or think it would give a good life to the subject, but i do not go around telling everyone, this will be the first time in all those years i have mentioned it, and i am but one of thousands who do
But in this case after reading what the Pup has been through No, i think not just to give it life which it will not have in a normal way, Your comments were as you say to the whole forum and that makes you a very nasty minded person if you think you are not getting your own way
Whatever is done for the Pup i hope it is done quickly for it does not deserve to suffer like this and whether i be right or wrong,  i will send you  $100 towards the operation, send me a private mail with the bank details to send it too

Whoo, what a lot of hoopla over someone hoping to reach out to others and to help this poor pup.  Obviously a slow day on the board to have had so many jump on this as a issue to argue about.

I find it a bit sad, really

Bottom line, if you did not agree with the post, "change the channel".  There was no need to comment any futher other than to take a look and make sure there was no scam involved and warn people if there were one involved.

I share BeauGSD's feelings at the response that some individuals have had to the post,  if you saw someone at the grocery store asking for help for this pup, would you have chewed them out or walked by?   Its easy to attack on a forum like this one, because we don't have to look the person in the eye, easy to be "brave" and voice a negative opinion.

I honestly thought the same thing when I saw the post, why did they just not put the poor pup down?  There has to be a reason why they beleive this pup is worth being saved and having her health restored.    I trust Resuces choose the battles they hope they can win,  hopefully they will win this one.

Money is tight for everyone and I believe the intent was to look to see if enough people could spare a$5 spot to help out.  Not a whole lot different from the cash register at Pet Smart asking me for a $1 everytime I shop there.  Sometimes I give, sometimes I don't and I have no idea where the $10-20 per year is actually going (that's what I figure it ads up to).  At least in this case I knew where the money was going and I hope we find out what the outcome is for Maya.
