I remember Silbersee well from other boards I used to frequent. I always liked her, and this situation has given me even more respect for her.

Triodegirl
I may as well put my two pence worth in
I will tell you that if you lived in Belgium
and you bought a Dog from me for instance and this scenrio happen the same as it has with Silbersee
You reckon the Pup now 12 months old or so is worth double to what you paid for it, thats okay so long as you think so. now you say if Silbersee did have it back and resold it she would not sell it for the same as you paid but would expect more, only you are saying that, not Silbersee
As for thinking your Pup is worth double it is only you who thinks so because you have cured its jumping on you if you can call jumping up a cure, and the pup can sit when told
That shows how naive you are, I can tell you that if you lived over here in Belgium and you wanted to get double for your Pup that is if you tried to sell it, You would never sell it in a hundred years not even for the price you paid for it as a Puppy
To resell a Dog the age yours is over here and get a decent price for it meaning what you paid for it and maybe a little over, you would have to do the following.
a Guarantee on its hips and elbows regards its age
It would have to be at least walking to foot in a reasonable manner
Be socalised with people and other dogs
Now if you try and sell a Dog two or more years old, and expect double your purchase price
Firstly the buyer would look at the breeding, then it would have to have excellent certified Hips and Elbows breedable
Next it would have to have its BH and at least SchH1
No, you are thinking only as you think, you have done nothing at all yet with the Pup
The Jumping up would cure its self really with a little help from the handler thats no big thing in a pup of any breed, but i understand your concerns with your health
The Pup sitting, it is the easiest thing in the world to get a Pup to do it comes natural to a Pup to sit
Perhaps i should have moved to the USA if things are that easy to make a profit
Finally we all await to see what you accomplish with your Pup in the near future, I hope you do for the Pup will be a better Dog for it, an obedinant Dog is a happy dog, that is for sure, Why, it has no pressure or worries on it

Triodegirl, my breeder and I live in central Florida about an hour and a half to two hours from each other and meet about half way tp train. I will email her and ask her if she has time to train another dog and/or is willing to board and train a dog. She is competing in the National's with one of her dogs, she has several of her own she is working, plus helping me with mine and working a full time job. I say that because I don't want you to get your hopes up and then be dissapointed if she is unable to. It can't hurt to ask but I think it would be much cheaper for you to find a good club near you and work with Bella yourself if you want to train her for Schutzhund. Plus you will build an even stronger bond with her and be proud of the accomplishments the two of you obtain together. It would be easy for me to have my breeder do all the work but I want to work with my girl and learn how to train her for schutzhund. No two dogs are the same and methods may have to be different for my younger pup but I am learning and enjoying myself. They love to go to training because I love it and make it fun for them. If it's not something you want to do, not something you are going to enjoy or make fun for the dog, then it will not be a good experience for either of you. Your thoughts & feelings go down the lead in what ever you are training your dog to do so if you get upset, angry, frustrated, it's time to put the dog up and change your attitude to a positive one before getting her out again. What was your origional plans for Bella when you got her?
I don't know if it's possible for you and Chris to work things out but as previously mentioned, she is your best resource. No one will put more into helping you and Bella than her, she is "Mommy 1", you are "Mommy 2" and she will always give and do anything it takes to help one of her pups, that's what a good breeder is and does. I don't know Chris, I'm only going from what I've read on this board. She may even be willing to have the dog evaluated to see if she has the drive to be a good schutzhund training canidate. Not all dogs are and from what you have said here, I'm not sure if she is. If she isn't, you will only be adding to your frustration and dissapointment. I would find a good club near you that can help you train her or recommend someone who would be able to train Bella in your area. I prefer to have my dogs at home with me if at all possible. If schutzhund is what you got her for but she is not suited for it, I would return her for a refund to Chris and get a dog better suited for it. Or train her for agility or something else she is better suited for. I train my dogs for search & rescue work, I work mostly in the woods and spent over a year training two for HRD but they had issues in the woods so I donated them to USDA. They are now searching airports for smuggled items in an environment suited for them. They are great dogs just weren't suited for my needs. It's just their make up. I got my first GSD to do USAR with her, spent almost a year training her for that but after my back injury, I am not suited for that work, so I switched her to HRD to replace one of the other dogs. It's no ones fault and I'm very fortunate she is so easy to train and willing to do what every I've asked of her. She is Great at Schutzhund and loves it. It wasn't my goal when I got her, life changed my original goals for the two of us but she and I are both happy and doing what we both enjoy. I love the Schutzhund as much as she does now becaus

Nothing is wrong with Bella, just taking her in for routine maintenance.
by WiscTiger on 30 April 2009 - 15:04
Sue,
If sending Bella away for training is something you want to do there are resources closer than Florida, not that I am knocking Florida. But there is a place down by Madison and a couple in N. IL. That way you could go there and check her progress in person.

I was kidding about sending Bella away, especially that far. Just sounded like Teri has a good thing going with her breeder. But would only work if you lived close enough. I have been in contact with a trainer in northern Illinois but would need to check out where he lives and also the club he belongs to. Still not sure though as I think I would worry too much.

As previously stated, my breeder and I are friends and as such we mutually help each other out. I'm not looking for handouts or free rides. No friendship or relationship is one sided and no one appreciates being used and/or taken advantage of. Sadly this all appears to be a joke to you; you didn't really want to sell Bella but felt like you had to, you were just teasing about sending her out for training, etc., etc. Now you are mocking people who offered to help you with good intent by now asking for a collection to pay for a Vet bill. Perhaps you need to take this a little more seriously. Not only are you making poor choices for yourself and your dog(s), now you have pulled your breeder and several people on this board into your immature attention seeking threads. I'm not sure how old you are but from the sounds of it you need to do some growing up before you are able to make good choices in your life. If you wonder why people are aggravated and/or frustrated with you on this board it's because of what you are doing and writing here. Why should anyone waiste their time trying to give you advice that you claim to be seeking here? You aren't taking anything seriously, you are mocking those who are earnestly trying to offer you help and you are playing head games with people. At this point I believe your only intention is to cause more pain and suffering to Chris and seek attention for yourself on this board. Sadly I guess negative attention is better than none at all.
Good luck to Bella and yourself.
Teri
Good luck to Bella and yourself.

Teri, spot on! This whole ordeal has turned into her nightly entertainment and stabs at the breeder.
