I'm a worry wort, I always fall back on the rice & boiled chicken thing, with a little yogurt a couple times a day even after they seem better, just to rest the GI tract....I'm sure glad he's feeling better! jackie harris

Well he has California Naturals (which has a very limited ingredients list) mixed with some Merrick's Turducken canned to encourage him to eat. He hasn't been a big eater to start with, just eats what he needs and doesn't gorge like most pups will do. At first he just ate the yogurt off the top but he has eaten about 1/2 the bowl of food ( 3/4 cups) this morning since 5am. 4 hrs to eat 3/4 cup is slow enough. He's been very good at pacing himself, taking a bite or 2 every 1/2 hr or so. He is still upbeat, jumping all over me again and running around as normal.

Did you check his gums? I bet he is teething..and the new environment. Keep same foods for the next 4 weeks..do not change ...little helpings..
His temp is normal range,,and not over any limits..keep a log so you will know what his temp range is...If he is teething he may elevate his norm only a little...If he is teething, freeze some round steak bones and give to him

Looks as if he sprouted his legs overnight. Of course he is somewhat thinner having not eaten in 1.5 days but his legs look really long, he IS taller and that muzzle is longer. He looks very gangly now, not that rolly polly puppy look anymore. Ears are back up again.
I have been giving him icecubes a few times a day to help stay cool in this record heat we have been having. Today is pretty mild. Beautiful morning, with all the windows open for the nice breeze. Only 81 for the high today.
His meals are always small. I leave a bowl with 1.5 cups twice a day and it's usually not even empty when I go to refill. He's a grazer.
Any opinions on the best wormer out there?

I raise all pups off groung on wire and as another thread just posted on the Kraftwerk thread, I know that is the only way to go..Been ridiculed for pups in or on wire but I don't care what people think, I know what works and I have 35 yrs of dog raising and breeding and never in my entire life had parvo , or any diseases..I do not use chemicals unless necessary and I DO WORM. But I use safe less stong wormers. I use garlic powder in my dogs foods and I use lots of other natural foods to keep dogs healthy..I do not put pups outside to be infested.
I spray all shoes and cars , vehicles stay off my property.
Panacur is a much safer wormer, Use it in intervals as pups pic up worms out of the ground from all kinds of sources. Many time the worm egg comes in pups , not the breeders fault, it is just time to worm again.
On tiny pups I use Paomate and I use small amounts. Keeping a pup out of mess, garbage and flowerbeds and places where flies lay eggs helps all this. I know a pup has to be a pup..but again,,till pup has a strong immune system , and has shown he is strong in his eating habits,,just take percautions. Im sure you have a safe place in your yard for his activities and his new working place. Just be careful bringing your big boy home into your yard without spaying his feet and making sure you spray yours. You are at dog club and no telling what you bring home on you. Also since you have a day care, I would worry also about others dogs at their particular home. Do any of them have a parvo problem .>>?? YOu don't know nor never will know..I would take percaution and remove all shoes before coming in my door. Spray the steps and porch with either odoban or weak clorox solution I dont use clorox unless needed. People do not realize where the parvo virus comes from and can be introduced into your home many different ways...Many people go dog shopping to flea marts on weekends...?????many more places it comes from also...on shoes and from other dogs coming thru your yard or outside your front gate.
So just take percaution...rather be safe than sorry. Mahon uses the same proceedures..Makes some people mad when they come to visit..But you know what....their life and money is not invested in our dogs.
