One of my favorite dogs of all time would fall asleep and snore during the long down out of sight in AKC open. I'd come back and he's be snoring between two leery eyed dogs (once a rottie and a dobie). I LOVED THAT DOGS' CONFIDENCE.
I'm very surprised this dog was passed. He should have been failed for that exercise, and I've been at trials where judges failed a dog for doing exactly that, giving as a reason that the dog was not obeying, it was unconscious! Now, the judge giving the failing score, that was years ago and maybe it's not allowed to fail for that now, but a snoring dog? Nope, being unconscious is not obedient and for the purposes of an obedience trial is not acceptable.

Hi everyone,
I really enjoyed this conversation. Astra as I said before was a high drive female, faster than stripes, and would go all day if you let her. She loved the game that much, but she also had an off button. My Sabin GS, is a couch potato until you ask him do you want to find, then he will haul your .... all day. IMO each breed has been bred from generation to generation (I guess evolved as a population) to what we have today. I have seen smaller GS run as fast as a mal and the physics of it show the hard hit, GS from strengh have that hard hit too. Why is one race horse faster than another, genetics for structure and function, the same as dogs. In the general population as in humans you will issues of mental state in each litter, in mals, GS, any dog breed really. If you research and observe the different mals you will see that yes there are many who are driven and have off button too. If you put the wrong dog with the wrong person, these dogs go to shelters, or euth. because the owner did not know what they really had when they chose it. This again is all my opinion from observation and putting the math and science to work in making my conclusion. Have a great day everyone. I am off to a beautiful day.
Always,
Cee
