No lay offs here yet, but I did take a pay cut. I did manage to save alot of money this past year, and I'm thankful for that.

Yep. I was laid off from a national direct marketing job last July. There were some good other openings around here in my field shortly after I was laid off and it originally seemed like it would be easy to replace my income. Well, the job market just completely fell apart and it just keeps getting worse. Fortunately, my wife is still employed so we've been fine, but that's scary because she works in the banking industry for one of the big financial companies that has laid off more than 50,000 people in the past 6 months. Hopefully for all of us that the job market will improve soon, however, that's unlikely.

Both my wife and I work for the post office...just got an offer for voluntary early retirement:-). 1000 supervisors lost there jobs this week! 300 jobs available....700 will be gone! That is just in the New York metor area! Hopefully, families will come together and support each other! Everyone should look at there employment and set yourself up for a change! Good luck to all....it ain't over yet!
