I did not expect anything else but sarcasm from the posts and I was not disappointed.  Yes I am concerned about use of my moniker as Den and I were accused by another UK breeder of posting something we did not.  Having seen first hand the spitefulness of  some of the UK breeder and exhibitors first hand at the so called UK Sieger Show 2007   I wanted to ensure that I was not accused of anything else. I find it quite funny that you are getting on your high horse about the judges at Crufts coming from a land where you have no cohesive GSD clubs with constant in fighting and bickering.

You can't even get all your GSD people to enter your main event of the year without whining about how much the entries are and how the judging was fixed and that was before the show.  You lot talk the talk but that's all you do.  Maybe I came over a bit anal however I was right look at the response.

Carebear - you clearly have your own 'issues' with your experiences of uk breeders and exhibitors and that's between you and them, why bring it to a board/post that is making 'attempts' to resolve and prevent further 'problems' why are you unable to see this?  Instead you appear to want to 'argue' to prove that you are right over a name ........... come on..........?  If all we are doing is talking the talk and doing nothing else then why are dedicated breeders/exhibitors like sueb/videx etc actively lobbying breeders/exhibitors and the KC to promote a 'change' in the way things are done.  Indeed to me, a nobody, your post above only adds fuel to the bickering you speak of in the " I;m not arguementative " type way!

Why not contribute in a constructive way, make sensible suggestions as to how 'everyone' can help the breed in terms of health, welfare, even in the process of both working and showing our breed, how we can promote good breeding and create positive perceptions of our breed both with joe public and through the media directly??

All the best

Spike
I
think it a very sad state of affairs that you and your dog (and I am sure many like you) have had your hobby ruined by these irresponsible programme makers and the KC's knee jerk reaction to them.  I can imagine how you feel and sympathise with your plight and cant say I blame you for not wanting to risk attending Crufts this year. The Shepherd judge is a lovely man and I feel for him too, no reputable judge deserves to be put in this type of position but I am sure he will do his own thing anyway and wont be swayed by KC or Media pressure.

carebear - for info I do not for one moment suggest that you have all the answers, I certainly don't!  But as a public forum and a breed that is being 'attacked' to my mind all opinions and suggestions are worthy of consideration provided they are based on realistic substance.

I will now be away for the duration as yes I am taking my genetic mutants - but healthy none the less!  to that horrible event they call crufts - why am I doing this? well primarily because my dogs and I enjoy it but also because it is my hobby something that my dogs and I do as a team alongside all the other things we do including, agility, obedience and public demonstrations, oh yes and thats when they are not at work on patrol in our business!

All the best

Hi Liz not sure where you were coming from regarding your post especially the "genetic mutant" part etc - I certainly don't have the answers either but I can provide an insight from an "outsiders" point of view as I don't live in UK any more.  You seemed pissed off in your post or maybe I just read it incorrectly - that's the trouble with emails posts etc so impersonal.  However I won't post anything that may be misintereperated other than what it is constructive opinion based on what I have seen in the last two years on my frequent visits back to UK.

Carebear - I can tell you what Liz meant by "genetic mutant" - it is one of the things pure bred dogs got labelled with in the Pedigree Dogs exposed programme
