Shannan,
I know you are having issues, but I sent you an email, and it is very important, if you can find the time, please read it. Thank you,
Krista

Shannan, my prayers are with you on getting your dog back!!! You have given Lisa's name on here, but I would also be interested in the names in the people that came and got your dog in the first place. If they are friends of Lisa then we should know their names as well so we can keep our eyes and ears open, and stay clear of them.

Ok,
Sorry for the delay and I appreciate all the concern. I did go to the DA today and I was pretty firm with asking for the writ. Here in MI they call it a Claim and Delivery. I kept the explanation brief, saying only that the dog was stolen, I found where it was and the date, and that I believed that if we didnt immediately remove the dog that she would move it again or euthanize it. I had to file a ton of paperwork. They WOULD NOT seize the dog today because of the pending investigation in another county regarding Lisa and all the other dogs there. They did however issue a Protection Order for the dog. Stating that she (Lisa) shall refrain from damaging, destroying, concealing, disposing of or leaving her property with or using so as to impair it's original value by order of the court. She is to appear in court with the dog on the 18th or she is in contempt. They said it often takes much longer but the circumstances warranted a more expedited court date. So that is where I am at... This Lisa did let me know that she has the chemicals to euthanize animals... I let them know that as well but it did not sway their decision. So I guess I keep the posters going and make sure these next couple weeks wreak of stress and pressure for her... I have recorded her numerous phone calls and let the police hear them, I have filed harrassment and threatening phone calls... and that is where I am at.
Still Stuck...

Oh that's so sad I wish you had a better out come.. If this person has any kind of soul she would be smart and just return the dog. But as it stands she don't sound like she does.. ( have a soul ) I will keep praying for you and this situation..

Find out what it will cost ( cold hard cash) to get the dog out of her house. Pay it - get a receipt. That is the ONLY way to make sure the dog is safe. Turn around and ask for her to be charged with extortion.
"The obtaining of property from another induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence, or fear, or under color of official right. ...Under the common law and many statutes, an intent to take money or property to which one is not lawfully entitled must exist at the time of the threat in order to establish extortion. Statutes may contain words such as "willful" or "purposeful" in order to indicate the intent element."
Generally a state offense but can be federal as well "Extortion is also a federal offense when it interferes with interstate commerce. It is punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both.". Are you in different states?
Even if you do not "buy' the dog back you might be able to get her charged with attempted extortion. Worth asking the DA to do.
