this is one of the weirder threads. why are you asking to discuss this when you already know what you want to hear? tightness is a issue but the far bigger issue is if this is the same dog you've been posting about imo you are breeding loaded guns; so my question to you is: why? this female does not have the right temp to become a dam so why breed her? any pups born of her will in all likelihood have a very limited number of appropriate homes available to them. i feel very sad for the future of any of these pups and it would be completely irresponsible to place any in social situation e.g family homes, average skilled trainers .... , because their temps will be highly unpredictable. i hope you are prepared to kill pups you cannot find an extraordinarily skilled home. clearly you are free to breed whatever you want but it's breedings like this that give justification for "dangerous dog legislation". weird i just don't get the point of it - where's the balance?

I tend to agree with justcurious. I'm not a mal person either, though I think they're great dogs for the right people. But what do I know about anything.
I think she's more like 7/8th linebred if you go back another generation or 2. The great-grand-dams of the sire and dam of this pup are half sisters... or something. It's too much thinking for a Friday after work :)

Well, we don't know exactly that she is not breed worthy! Just because she bit GARD in the chest when playing does not make her a bad dog........has your dog ever scratched you in the face on accident when playing?
I will be the first to put my hand up and get a puppy!!!! I am placing my order now..........I want a male!

Curious,
Don't worry your pretty little head about my little future, maybe, someday breeding program. I will not be breeding pets so don't worry about any of my dogs eating babies. Drug dealers and drive by shooters maybe.....
She is not an outright mean dog. She is friendly to people and has been very stable during the time I have had her. Especially considering she had never been off the breeders property or seen anything before I got her.. Just a dog with drive that you have probably never experienced. She is a dog that is obsessive about the toy and if she doesn't have anything in her mouth, you better be ready to put something there or it will be your hand in her mouth. Again not a bad thing just something you just don't have experience with.
Took some pics and vids tonight. If my little computer advanced brain can figure it out I will post pics here. Vids will be on YouTube cuz I know how to do that.

GARD, My Ccatti was like that the first almost year of her life. She had to wear a nylon harness 24/7 or would choke herself out. Foaming at the mouth type of drive. No off switch, my ankles were squeeky toys. I had kongs and toys all over so one was ALWAYS in reach. That is not the kind of dog most people would or could deal with. Now that she's 4 1/4 years and matured I still have kongs all over the house, things are still squeeky toys but she leaves my ankles alone. And she still foams at the mouth at times during protection. But like yours, not a mean dog. But could be if pushed though.
Please let me know when you get the vids posted. I'm looking forward to seeing the little hellion.

i'm not worried at all just think it's odd. like i said you're certainly free to breed whatever you want. my 2 cents is simple - obsessiveness and crazy behaviors aren't good qualities in a dam, but mals are not gsds so looking for a gsd temp is unreasonable on my part. i have seen many dogs with excessive drive and know it's not what i look for in a dog (i love brains:) i honestly don't get why some folks see this type of drive as "the end all" but then again i know lots of people who love playing with loaded guns (some are close relatives:) and i don't get that either but hey i'm all for individuals rights:) so keep on keeping on and enjoy yourself while doing it

This is straying off topic, but I was surprised by the photo of this dog: Elgos du Chemin des Plaines, really seems to resemble a GSD to me.
