Well I have to put my two cents in here.Sounds like a show vs work sort of thing.Their is nothing wrong with SchH nor HGH no matter what country. As long as their is an interest in the gsd...of the "Depth" of the individual to continue on.The SchH and the herding(HGH) should be combined in order to achieve breed value worthyness. But yet again there are the standards in which most people look to which deviates the cause of saving what inherant genetics that the individual pocesses and sacrificing the over all structure of the dog.The body working together.Fast tracking in a trot with no exhaustion and the head not set so high...Covering so much ground in so little time.In ref to herding. It is not all about sheep but I am gladdened for those that compete because that is all that is there in the arenas. But just know a gsd must pick the job that is inheriant to them...if allowed.such as chickens etc etc. a therapy dog..a guide dog etc etc.It just seems to me that so many people just look at whatever standards and forget to to take time to see the capacity of the individual of a genetic input for the breed to survive...and rebuild.
