Two years ago, my daughters, then 7yrs and 18yrs and one of my son in laws, were out in the field and came up on an owl with a broken wing.  My then 7yr old, who has no fear what so ever of any animal, picked it up. They brought him in, and we kept him inside, until his wing healed.  The girls named him, Hector. After he healed up we turned him loose to join his family who lived in our barn. Hector would fly and land on us when we were around. One day a guy from the Electric Company came out to repair a security light. Hector flew on him, and the guy was screaming bloody murder lol. After about a year, Hector stopped landing on us, but he still lives in the Barn.

It still wouldn't make any difference and may lead to even more accusations of who is who.

There are 2 types of IP adresses:

Dynamic and Static

Dynamic IP addresses change everytime you switch off and on your computer.

Static IP addresses are mainly for Websites e.g. The Pedigree Database which means it's IP address is always the same.

I'll try to explain this as easily as i can.

You have an ISP (Internet Service Provider) e.g.  AOL, Verizon, BT, Virgin Media.....etc.

Now these companies have servers located throughtout the country. eg. 100 servers in Ohio or 100 servers in London.

Now 1 of those servers can hold upto 30 people on them. e.g IP address for that server maybe. 198.162.2.81

So those 30 people logged into that server will all have the same IP address as above.

Another 30 people login to another of there servers in the same location there IP will be 198.162.2.82

So that ISP could have 100 servers and 100 different IP addresses ranging from 198.162.2.01 - 198.162.2.99 and then when you logout and then log back in you could get anyone of those IP adresses.

You also have to remember that those 30 people maybe live 100s of miles way from eachother but will all have a London area IP address because there ISP servers are located there.

So you can see that you could accuse someone of being someone else because the both use the same ISP.

Only true way to find out who is who is each individual computer has it's own unique ID number but the only time that is looked for is when the police are looking into cyber crimes.

Abhay, I will say this much. Regardless of the name you sign in under the always offer either valuable information or humor. Many times I have laughed out loud from your posts and can't pass a cheese wheel in the dairy section with a straight face. I've never known you to come on here spoiling for a fight. It's been peaceful and informative here for the last couple of months.

Tell "Raven Hair" I saw her # on my caller ID but my battery died before I could call her back.  And my friend at the shelter said your recommendation worked like a charm and it hasn't spread any further. She wants to know how long until it starts to clear up on those four?

4pack-I always wondered if that was you!  Priceless.

4pack,

Thanks for providing the link to the Mickey Mouse thread. I don't know how in the world I missed that whole episode. That definetly was one of the best threads I've read here. Everyone added something new, something different but extremely funny.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!

K-9mom

I agree there needs to be a better way. I saw what happened last time and I know that there were accusations that were false and there are too many inconsistancies with the IP #'s. I for one have been K-9mom since I first purchased a computer about 10 years ago. I am well know in AKC Sport, Rescue, and with other breeders and was recklessly challenged to be someone else. I have had different servers as I have moved over the years and changed companies however. I am who I am, am will always be who I am. K-9mom, Tina. If you really want to bring credibility to this board, it can only be with having the moderater of this board require real names and proof of names through true identity. Anything is a fantasy. People in the dog world will recognize true names and bring credibility to comments of these threads. Anonymous comments would be considered not credible.

Tina   Always - the K-9mom and nothing else

So I hope the issue of two "Tina's" here will not become a real issue.  I am animules and have always been animules.  Some here know me as Tina but I don't make a big deal of it.

4-pack, Mickey Mouse was great.  Good job!

Abhay, you share some good information when people aren't sniping at you.  A little C/ptin Mike thrown in for humor is good.

Once again, IP addresses are fine with me.
