Hi MI GSD,

You know what works real good for trimming dogs toenails, and there's little
to no bloodshed.....

If you dog will retrieve a stick or a ball for you, then go to a parkinglot or a dead end
street and throw that ball or stick for your dog untill your arm's about to fall off, BOY,
the asphalt does wonders on the nails just like a nail file.

That'll wear down those nails--- fast!

Peticure...... ordered one, took almost 5 weeks till it came. Then the screw for thightening the band on is to short (or the shaft is to short). Dummie me tried to push it with that darn screw, slipped with the screw driver and rammed it straight through my thumb. Took the one off my old dremel. Now its sitting unused in the charger, and my thumb is slowly healing.  Dont recomend it. Its not quieter then a regular dremel, and even longer too. Only difference is the cup for nail size. and as I havent had a chance to use it, I dont know if it works as advertised. Dont know if I want to go through the hassel of sending it back. May takes another 5 weeks.

If I would have Alpha rolled when I first got one of my individuals I wouldnt be here today. The individual was trained to respond on defense. It took some time to undo this then I rolled the dog.A dremel is nice if you have to use it for the nails of you dog but still the dog has to be familiar with the touching of the feet..noise without a fight.Even in muzzling.."Hog tieing"...It will just bring about another bad experience for the dog for future trimmings.Have you ever given a shot to your dog? If so maybe your vet will give you a shot of ACE based on his weight to kind of knock him out so you can trimm the nails or perhaps some ACE granules to put in his feed.If so give your dog a treat afterwards by just rubbing on those nails and legs before he really comes around..followed up with just a small food treat.
