angus is between 80-85 lbs now. he had lost some weight due to being sick but is well and eating again. he is 16 mos and is large. i have the breeder check him at least 2x a month. he is long haired so it isn't always easy to see his ribs, but i run my hands over him daily too. plus i look down on him to make sure he has a "waist". he eats 1 1/2 - 2 cups of rc gsd twice a day, a bit less if he has yogurt or cottage cheese or raw chicken or merrick (1/4 can) added. i try very hard to keep him lean because of his hips but his size is beyond my control. i've been told he could be 130 lbs!!!! by my vet, but i think thats just crazy!! whatever he tops out at, it will be as lean and healthy as i can make him. i also feed both our dogs in separate areas so they can't "share".

130 pounds! Your vet is on crack, we've seen a couple of 130 pound GSD's that really should have been around 100 or less. Drives me crazy! Then they wonder why these dogs can't walk when they get older!

Nenz is five years old, 26 inches, and weighed 75# last couple times he got weighed. I think he gained some weight since I got Spunky. He eats off and on all day and people comment, boy he sure looks like he eats good. Although occasionally I get comments like You need to feed him. Not so much since he gained weight. Vet said keep him thin because he is dysplastic. That is why I got him for free. The vet records I got with him say he was 65# at age 3 when shipped from Germany. He is registered on the database. That was done when he was two. He looks pretty much the same. You can see his picture by searching Nenz vom Klebinger Schlo in the pedigree search. I got him a year ago at age 4.

Trigger aka Spittleboy was at the vet yesterday and weighed in at 105.8 lbs. The vet thought he could lose 10 lbs. Really? Here's a recent picture. Looks fine to me

Got Theo's hips OFA'ed, waiting on the results, he weighed
68 pounds the day he got his hips done, the girls picked him
up after treating a newfie, and they were making cracks about
how light he was.
I took him with me a couple days later to pick up heartworm pills,
and weighed him again, 70 pounds, he's 2 years old.
He stays very active, I'm just going to feed him more raw stuff & exercise him more.

Just weighed my boy yesterday because it was shots day. He's 15 months and weighs 80 pounds.

Blitz weighed 96.7 lbs last year on the vet's scales. He in good condition I think. Blitz is very tall and small boned. He measures about 28" to the top of his withers. If he were a heaveir boned dog, he's weigh more. My first GSD was about the same height as Blitz (I seem to grow them big here) but he had a lot more bone and a bigger head head so weighed 126 and was not fat. He was undergoing chemo the last time he was weighed.
