I lived 9 hours from Molly, and most recently now 5 hours from Molly. The only time they see each other is at National events. other than that, even if I visit , Hawk does not "get around" Eagle. Hawk ignores all other dogs...the far end of the spectrum when it comes to dog aggression. All he ever focuses on is his toy, or what he can find to be a auitable toy.
My point was.. "yellow rose" was mistaken about the identity of the dogs who won or were on the podium at the AWDF Championship. And the only time Hawk would ever growl at another dog is if they got in his face or tried to take his toy and I was not there to handle the situation. He never has been interested in picking a fight with any other dog. As a handler and owner of GSD, whether on leash or off, I am always fully aware of our surroundings anyway, you have to be. Hawk has actually been the victim of attack from other dogs...during obedience while he was in a long down, and the most recent, a loose pit bull. Every time, he quickly handled it, and ended it, and moved on.

Molly
Hence the word "probably". I think that is great. To have a powerful dog that gets along with others is the best thing in the world. I think it is also great that there are competitors out there that get along so well that they can share a room and the expenses that come along with trialing.

Kandi I did not say awdf I said on the podium of the 2006 H.O.T championship Youth and National Obedience championship where Kandi and Hawk were on the podium and I ask how would she have done it if Hawk growled at one of the dogs in close proximity You are also mentioned in the article with Eagle putting up two '98 scores....I think the two got mis communicated.....Im looking at Kandi 's pic on page 12 of Nov/dec 2006

Re reaad the post above when I addressed the posters not to start any nonsense.....
My approach to Molly is that Molly knows what to do, if she was the handler.......Kandi is a younger handler, and my question was ,,,what would Molly have done to stop what happened to Gus, IF IF IF it had happened to Kandace, on the podium, and this yong boy of this thread , is reading all of this,,,,,so he will draw from both questions.....one Molly knows ,,,,,,Gus had a problem.....GSDKID has a problem with a young pup.......he needs to listen to those on this board that are accomplished so he can learn,,,,,,,he has a trainer that yelled help......or this boy wouldnt have even know about the incident ,,,,,if I had been the trainer,,,,,I wouldnt havae even told a 14 year old I had a problemm correct it.....immediately on the first time.....that wht Judge Rapien addressed in his article...how to use a negative correction only one time ,,,if it didnt work , you didnt do it right.......positive corrections are what we use most all the time.... Im not a trainer but Ive had to snap a neck or forty) back when I was doing the sport...and since I never made it to the podium like Kandi and Molly,,,,,or others,,,
They can answer and we will all discuss this ....nice thread....

Guys no need to worry, He has one of the best trainers in Germany. He has only been there two weeks, and dont forget he has been pulled apart from his owner and his home. He did decent in his show and he his entering in one this Sunday so lets get the best of luck. Just needed to know if this happened to your dog. He is fine and his growling issue is getting better.

Kandi's response: yes...MUCH YOUNGER!! hehehehe!!!!! (Ducking from Molly now)
Sorry Yellow rose, I misunderstood they way you wrote it and thought you said Hawk HAD growled at another dog. I did not wrote the article about that HOT Championship, was only quoted in parts.
Now how would I handle the situation you describe in your post..i would never let it escalate to that point. Obedience is Obedience. Fuss is Fuss. Period. No looking around, no sniffing other dogs, no chance to even find a reason to growl. If I had a dog aggressive dog and had to train for the podium or even to report in to a judge...I would train train train for it...although, I personally don't think I would ever want that type of liability hooked ot my leash.
I will add, for me, this all starts when you have a puppy. You teach the puppy the important fun of ignoring everything going on around them and make yourself so fun and appealing, the pup learns to focus on the handler. I am purposely taking my current 4 month old to class right now, not because I can't teach her simple obedience, but to put her in situations where the obnoxious 150lb 9 mo. old mastiff lunges out to play, and I can teach the pup to ignore it...that all the fun is with me. If she learns some obediene while we are at great, but my main purpose for the class is to show her how to ignore all other beasts, and how to focus even in situations where she may not be absolutely comfortable. Once this is mastered, her teethign should be over, and the real schutzhund training can begin. :)

I hope your older and wiser...gave you the credit due....It say Championship, Youth and National Obed champship;;;;;;I thought Kandi was the youger of you two she sure looks young in the pic where she is sending him out....... I kept looking for a pic of Molly in all of my magazine over the last two years and I cant find any plenty of mention of your awards and the one all of them were listed in ,,including the Master GOld , I never say a pic...I found Adrian Ledda in several bless his heart....love that man ,,he is the greatest....
Ill send you roses Molly
I have Roses in my computor Oli only has hearts....and
Bingo to Kandi......you said what I wanted you to say.......focus and concentration is started when they are pups just like gsdkids pup ........that pup needs only focus routines for a month or so until it has done it 42 time 42 Adrian got ahold of Michael and Crissy, and I learned things I had never been taught for years in schutz in one month from him about concentration...he gave Michael 6 drills to do....and dont come back till they were accomplished....he worked on them and Ledda would critique and correct and send him home with more to be done...I was shocked to see a pup that wouldnt even pay attention to Michael to start , she was inquisitive and he could call ttill the cows came home.....Ledda played a game the first day...he and mIchael went to the woods and diasppeared Crissy all of a sudden realized Michael wasnt where she saw him last...I was watching from the truck I laughed myself silly,,,,,they did this three or four times ..then he sent routines home for michael to work with her michael died and I have Crissy..she has a focus the ball two balls,, a kong and the treat....when she is fussing the eyes are up and you could jump and hollar growl or send three males to her and unless they jumped her...sheis focused.,..now,,,,she has not been in training for 6 mos...I would say she could be distracted very easy ,,,,she is a beginner,.,,,,,,A dog in heat , a growl a fight , a judge , a stranger any thing and everything should not matter from the time the leash goes on till it comes off in the long down stay or the other competition events off leash....if it cant be done ,,,the dog doesnt belong there.....

Your kidding me How long have you been in the sport and Im glad you are joined in dont leave...we need experience and knowledge, not bs here...we have too much bs and not the exacy knowledge that is strict and not afraid to stand firm on what has to be done to keep schutzhund a 'sport" with the fun and spirit to keep a happy dog....I can never find a pic of Molly in any mag and not going to trial except in Texas , do not know what she looks like or her personal info....I guess I assumed she was more in my era of age.
