I think the wonderful things about dogs is that they are color blind and love unconditionally regardless where you live.  It is tougher to raise dogs without a fence or in an apartment but it is done all the time.  I am unsure if for a puppy this would be the right place but surely there are enough older/senior dogs that would be happy and content sharing their love in a place where they count as a family member.  When I was working full time, it never occurred to me to get a puppy.  So, I started with an 8 year old senior girl and then a 2 year old girl.  Both needed homes and filled my life with lots of fond memories, lots of exercise and became "my" dogs.  When I worked from home, I made the plunge and got my first pup.  I had everything set up in a way that it was easy to housetrain and let out without danger.  The entire property was not fenced in so I built a large privacy fenced kennel and a doggie door for them to go out and take care of their business.

I had one litter of pups and they went into private homes with fenced yards.  I did get a call from several people that I believed to quickly access to be on the "fringe" looking for "breeders", "protection dogs" (my fear of a dog staked out in the frontyard, kicked in) and a replacement dog for one that had just been run over.  I did not want to get in any further conversation with these people.  I did not know how they lived or what they were like.  It was a feeling over the phone.

Trailerpark? NO       Ghetto? It depends.  I am not a breeder but if I were one those would be my answers.

lol...i have known alot of oil field highly educated people who for various reasons including lack of housing available etc who are middle to upper middle class who bought trailer houses.

Funny how I have been jumped on for being a racist and hater yet few people think judging people for other reasons is fine as long as it suits their need anyway.

This is Fiex and he was sold to a young man who, lives in a trailer, is single, goes to church with the person who sold him the pup, and this picture was taken on the oil rig site , where he spends 23 days out of every month with Ryan, his owner...I have encouraged him to enter this photo in a contest, as I think it is a great shot...the rig site is in the top, Desert Ranger....He takes his dog everywhere he goes , even on dates...could have ask for a greater person to sell a dog to...you have no way of telling who has a big bank roll, so dont even try....when he bought Fiex, did not know him, but his intense interest in the pup was overwhelming...He has an apt in town and his parents , live nearby and they dogsit on occasion. This rig site is somewhere near Jasper.

Is that Jasper, Alberta? Alberta is currently in the midst of a serious housing shortage, due to a booming economy and a huge influx of immigrants. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find people with quite a high income are living in trailers, due to the shortage of both rental accomodaton and family dwellings such as towhomes, semis and single family detached homes.
