In my training group i have four of our recent puppies out of our dec 23rd litter they are all progressing fabulously, there watching and barking on comand, will search til they die for even a rock, and are all biting on young dog sleeves on short send up a 15' gravel mound, they have been working on top of truck hoods, in the back of pick up beds, and we even started handler dog repelling for building searches to get them compfortable,

we are moving foward nicely here and are working hard to get these handler dog teams on the streets

My training couldn't be going better with Gunner my 18 week old GSD pup that I got from Steve at Haus Simpkins.  What a great pup.

Only one problem while he was pooping this morning he raised his hind leg.  He's  a big deal now as he just started raising his leg while peeing.   He must have thought that he may as well try it doing his other business   Have to talk to  Mike Pinkston my trainer about that LOL

I am (fortunately or unfortunately, I can't decide) between dogs at the moment. My Jaguar daughter is pregnant again, with all the breeding trouble we've had with her, and she's 5 now, I don't think I'll ever get that 3 on her I wanted. MY Rikkor daughter finished her UD last year and I have yet to get the motivation to her UDX. Especially hard to compete in utility when your fiancees Iriac grandson unzips your article bag and eats your leather dumbbells down to the bar...I'm working with a friends dog, hopefully he will have a 1 on him by the end of the year.

I'm really hurtin' for a male of my own to compete with, but it's going to have to wait. I told my daughter the next female we keep will be her dog, she wants very much to do schutzhund. She put her first CD on a dog when she was 9 all by herself, and competes in Jr. Showmanship, I know she can and will do it.

Now the next breeding I do, I have the opportunity to use a male that I have heard many, many good things about temperament-wise, so if I get lucky for once and things go my way, I'll have a new male to work on next spring.

Happy training everyone!

If your dog bites the leash, try running it through a section of small diameter PVC pipe cut to the right length. It should be long enough so the dog can't reach an unprotected section of the lead. This has stopped every dog I've ever owned from biting on the lead.
