Sadly there seems to be more white cropping up even in dogs of very good pigment. There are some "top" dogs with large white patches. In spite of this, no pup is more than a prospect, hence the rating VP. If a pups future were really so clear we could just give out V-A's at 8 weeks. Jonah

Hey PTr909 I suggest you buy that pup! It likely will enhance the quality of GSD;s you already own! lol

Ok Ok Your statement! "I was just joking around about one of your posts about how you are in to Longcoats. I have owned "standards" in the past with much more faults than just a long coat. From ears to tails, there is no such thing as a perfect "standard". I recently converted to long haired (coated) gsds. I imported my coated male from Germany and let me tell you, I paid full price and he is worth it. I don't intend to show my dog in a ring or train him how to bite and attack. I simply wanted a family companion and thats what I got. I think long coats are making a come back and this has the "standard" community alerted. You couldn't of said it any better wcgsds. Long Coats...not just a standard gsd! " So in reality this could be a step up to buy that pup!

By the time that pup gets his adult coat most of that white, if not all, will be gone. I can't see if the toenails are all white or not, but if they aren't the pups feet should have normal coloring later. LOTS of pups are born with white feet, some even have white patches on their chests. That, too, usually disappears with their first adult coat. SS

I have seen much smaller amounts of white disappear but to be honest have never seen one with that much white but you 'shelley"have seen many more than I have so that is interesting. I wonder if the pad id black or not? I have seen a few GSd's where the pad remained flesh colored.
